On the last weekend before Election Day, gubernatorial candidates Ben Chandler and Ernie Fletcher had very different campaign approaches but one similar message

The "KY democracy" has faced hard time since the retirement of the legendary former Governor and Senator Wendell Ford. It was Ford in fact who halted the last Republican gubernatorial administration and ushered in a long-term period of Democrat senatorial victories in the commonwealth (since broken). People in KY regarded Ford the way the Texans did Lloyd M. Bentsen, Jr., and the Louisianians did John Breaux. It remains to be seen if Ford can bring wavering Democrats home to the Chandler campaign.
