(KFVS) - A woman from Florida was arrested twice on Sunday, July 16, after she attempted to steal a vehicle in Paducah, Kentucky, then after getting out of jail, stole a separate vehicle from outside the public library downtown. According to a release from the Paducah Police Department, 59-year-old Yamila Laborde was first arrested at 12:47 p.m. near Walmart on Hinkleville Road. A Florida man was arrested for murder on Saturday after allegedly assaulting a couple in the parking lot of a Kentucky hotel then shooting and killing an employee, according to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office. In addition to first-degree murder, 55-year-old Robert Pannell was also charged with assault, wanton endangerment, disorderly conduct, menacing, and resisting arrest. Law enforcement officers were called to a Best Western hotel in southwestern Kentucky about an active shooter around 9:48 a.m. on Saturday morning. PADUCAH - A Paducah man is dead, following a police pursuit and deputy-involved shooting Wednesday morning in McCracken County. McCracken County Sheriff Matt Carter says deputies responded shortly after 8:30 a.m. to a complaint of a stolen vehicle, after the owner discovered it had been stolen sometime overnight. Carter says that during the investigation detectives learned the vehicle was equipped with OnStar, which enabled them to pinpoint its location. Long-time Bay Area journalist and radio host, Ray Taliaferro, is still missing. The 79-year-old was reported missing in Paducah, Kentucky where he was last seen on Nov. 10. Taliaferro is said to have met with his manager at a pizza restaurant in Paducah earlier that day. He's a man many people listened to on KGO Radio in the Bay Area for many years. Friends said Taliaferro was also the president of the Arts Commission, Leukemia Society, and the San Francisco NAACP chapter. GRAVES CO., KY -- The Graves County Sheriff's Office is releasing more information about the abduction and murders in Mayfield. A Brookport man is in custody for allegedly killing an ex-girlfriend and her teenage son. Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says that friends of 34-year-old Kimberley Thomas became concerned when she didn't show up for work Friday morning. They went to check for her at a home on 411 Fairlane Drive. As Kathleen Fox with The Paducah Sun reported, an art teacher at a Kentucky High School set up an exhibit where students were supposed to stand on an American flag while they wrote how they felt about it. Art teacher Shand Stamper at McCracken High School in Paducah set a music stand with paper to write on on top of the flag so that students could contemplate their feelings and then note them. Michael Ceglinski, the principal, stated that Stamper had erred, and continued that the display had not received approval by the administrators or the school.
