MSNBC just got a grieving father to slam the war effort..
MSNBC

MSNBC just showed an interview of a father who lost his son in the crash of the Chinook......the reporter asked the man if we should be in Iraq....his reply after a lengthy silence said..... "He would have handled it differently...."
They got the answer they wanted a military family critizing our war effort.

Saw it. They had to dig, dig, dig, the bastards.
Even then, what he said could be interpreted many ways.
MSNBC is just scum.

That's just sad. Instead of grieving for his family, he had to bring politics into it. Now you see why the news turns so many people off?

Politicizing personal tragedy....typical mainstream media...

I have stopped watching them since we went into Iraq. This morning when they had the briefing on the conditions of the soldiers that were in the helicopter the reporters tried to get the names of the soldiers. They just couldn't wait to contact the families to get a negative reaction to the war from them. I HATE MSNBC AND CNN!

The man had lost his wife and his son within three days and the media asks him for his opinion on the war? What crap. He probably can't even see straight, much less have a bunch of cameras & microphones shoved in his face.
My comments are unprintable.

MSNBC just showed an interview of a father who lost his son in the crash of the ChinookThe poor man was used for left wing propaganda. He hasn't even had time to grieve. That's so sad.
His son may have chosen to go. Many did.

And this is yet another example of why the liberal media establishment is digging its own grave right next to the Democratic party.

Typical Liberal Media Stunt. They're having their own MSNBC funerally. Pathetic!

MSNBC even tried to make a point about the markings on the helicopter, when they were unaware that it had RED CROSS markings on it. You know they were getting ready to ask why it was plainly marked as a military flight, so that they could unleash another critique. That one backfired, because they would have to blame the Red Cross instead of Bush.

"He would have handled it differently...."
...I didn't see the interview but am wondering how that statement translates into "slamming the war effort"
...In hind sight who would NOT have handled it differently?
...but again I didn't see it. Was he angry or just being a grieving parent?

Our son is in transit to R&R here in the States. Yesterday was hell on us until we found out he was OK and already in Baghdad when the shoot down occurred. My wife was almost a basket case. After many months of full support for the war when she heard of the shoot down she blurted out "we're losing, Bush doesn't know what he's doing." After she calmed down and had time to digest what was happening she changed her mind and continued her support for what is going on over there. Before we heard from him I made up my mind, that no matter the outcome for our family, we must continue to be supportive of this effort. We were relieved but can't be happy because some families weren't as lucky. For any reporter to push a grieving family for some kind of reaction is ghoulish, unsrcupulous and wholly uneccessary. They have no concept of what is taking place either in Iraq nor here.

Don Henley properly slammed the press attitudes in his lyric:
"Is the head dead yet?
The boys in the newsroom got a running bet,
Get the widow on the set,
Give us dirty laundry ...."
As the news-hyenas of MSNBC spread across the country, seeking out the grieving families of the Americans who were killed, there was probably one father who turned on them and spat out, "My son has just died, and you want to plague his mother and I for the amusement of the vultures in your newsroom? May you rot in Hell."
Probably some parent of all the ones they ambushed said something like this to their "reporters." But a statement like that would never make the air, now would it?
