CIA Finds No Evidence Hussein Sought to Arm Terrorists
Washington Post ^ | 11/16/03

The CIA's search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq has found no evidence that former president Saddam Hussein tried to transfer chemical or biological technology or weapons to terrorists, according to a military and intelligence expert.

Anthony Cordesman, a senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, provided new details about the weapons search and Iraqi insurgency in a report released Friday. It was based on briefings over the past two weeks in Iraq from David Kay, the CIA representative who is directing the search for unconventional weapons in Iraq; L. Paul Bremer, the U.S. civil administrator there; and military officials.

"No evidence of any Iraqi effort to transfer weapons of mass destruction or weapons to terrorists," Cordesman wrote of Kay's briefing. "Only possibility was Saddam's Fedayeen [his son's irregular terrorist force] and talk only."

This is just my opinin, but, since the war, I see Saddamm Hussein as a big-talking guy, trying to build a serious image for himself, both within his country and without. All that big talk caused to US to call his bluff, and all he had was two deuces. Shame on our intelligence organizations-- thanks to Clinton, in part. That said, the Iraqi people should absolutely rejoice and thank the US for ridding them of the maniac/psycho and his progeny.

It appears that Rantbury posted the Post's article in full. May they expect a suit?

Since we now know that the CIA can’t find it’s ass with both hands, I now dismiss any article that includes the words “CIA Finds No Evidence…”

Although there was no evidence of chemical weapons production, Kay said he had located biological work "under cover of new agricultural facility" that showed "advances in developing dry storable powder forms of botulinum toxin," Cordesman wrote.

Well, I wonder what they were planning to do with that?

It's the compost. When I see that name in the source I expect half-truths, blinding bias, and the kind of flagerant lies that make you feel all warm inside.

This is significant. There is little reason to produce dry, storable powder forms of botulinum toxin except for biowarfare or bioterrorism purposes.

"Author: Walter Pincus"

I guessed that before checking the source of the article. His name has been popping up a lot recently.

I am sure that the Washington Post could hear a shot, run into the room, see Clinton holding a gun, smoke coming out of the barrel, a dead woman and the Headline would read No Evidence of Clinton involvement.

Thanks Harry, you're right. You know the Compost is NEVER going to use a source that does not back its weltanschung.
It is a lot like the Center for Science in the Public Interest, these folks have a neat name a fax machine and fit in the leftist mindset.

Cordesman's little group of seditionists is exactly the same thing.
