With the closing of Pinstripes Sports Cafe on Dec. 24, some other bar owners in the city are concerned that they will be next.

Pinstripes closed as a direct result of the state public places smoking ban, according to Frank Bokoff, who said he was a spokesman for F and J Management, the group that owned and operated the bar and grill.

If Conn, Delaware, and Maine smokers dont want to repeal a law that does not work, that is their fault.

I can't speak for Conn or Maine - but we haven't stopped working on repeal in Delaware. And even though I don't live there anymore I am still working with them.

Repeal the law, or start some private clubs where smoking is allowed. Ive been to private clubs, I join at the door going in the first time.

Again, I can't speak for Conn. or Maine - but it is impossible in Delaware to do what you suggest. We had looked into it long before the ban was enacted.

Your position on the bans is greatly appreciated.

As for those that choose to make comparisons between the California ban and those now in NY, Maine, Conn and Delaware - there is one word that makes a major difference - WEATHER.

Why cant you have a private club in Delaware? Arent there any private clubs that serve alcohol? arent there any american legion, knights of Columubus, and why cant you start your own "private" club?
