The End is Near

Let's go, people! (Don't you hate when people address you as "people"?)

Admin Mod: If you take this out of Front Page News, I'll stop my donations and write an opus. Just be glad I didn't put it in Breaking.

This FReepathon has gone on long enough. I bet three-quarters of all the people who click on this thread are freeloaders, er, uh, I mean people who have not donated yet.

You know you love FR. You know it is the best source of breaking news, interesting commentary, and camaraderie on the Internet.

So what are you waiting for? I know what you are thinking: you have a few bucks to give, but you want to stay anonymous. Here's a tip: they don't give a damn who you are, they just need a few of your dollars to pay for stuff to keep FR online.

Why not do what I do. I promised to pay $10 a month. Big deal, 10 bucks. Each month they email me a reminder, and I print it out and toss it in my pile of bills. Then while I am paying other bills, I write a check to FR for $10.

Now how easy is that? You could do it, and you know it. Ten bucks. Or five. Whoop-tee-do. You'll never miss it. And you'll feel damn good about it, too.

I am going to keep bumping this thread until the bar turns green and the fireworks come out. So click the damn link below and pay up, er, uh, I mean donate to FR.

...and if you already are a monthly donor, just give this thread a little bump back to the top.

The only thing that would be nice is that if you do donate, they take down the banners for you.

What banners? You mean the freepathon ads on every thread? Those would go away if enough people were monthly donors and we didn't need to have freepathons.

But I know what you mean. At least this time they are not as obnoxious as they usually are.

That's true, last time they were somewhat irritating.

I am not a freeloader, honest! I signed up last time for the automatic withdrawl option. I love that! I don't forget, I don't write a check, I just leave it all to the gods of FR! :-)

I signed up last time for the automatic withdrawl option.

Whatever works. Some people get jiggy about giving out their banking information, but have no problem writing a check.

It is one check I enjoy writing each month.

I just like to wait until right before goal met. If it happens while I'm off line, oh well:')

some people get jiggy about giving out their banking information

You can do monthly by credit card too. If the collection department decides to go shopping you are only out 50 bucks. What's this about a cup for monthly donors? I didn't get one.
