They'll take off the bun, and probably charge twice as much. I'll just get the Whopper and take off my own bun, thank you!....:)

Hasil Adkins has been eating fast food burgers without the buns for a very long time.
Maybe he's started the "Adkins' Diet"...
He also sings a lot of songs about chicken (and has for nearly 50 years).

"will come in plastic salad bowls, with knife and fork"
Sounds a lot like the styrofoam burger containers used by McD's until eviornmentalists made them change. What will happen when these plastic bowls are littered all over the place? Oh, wait, this is BK, never mind.

Won't the gay rights advocates object? I mean how will they be able to live with a whopper and not bun to put it in?

"Bunless Whoppers"? Darn! That's what I was going to name my chain of restaurants with waitresses who couldn't work at Hooters because they are paraplegics!
Sorry.

Subway is doing this too. More proof for my theory that people are idiots. Do they charge more for a whopper without the bun?

The Atkins Diet has gone beyond a "craze" -- it's become a full-fledged mania.
Retail egg prices have gone up 50% at my store in the past six months. I know otherwise intelligent people who will now only drink one specific brand of light beer because of the carb count. And Hardee's and Subway, as God is my witness, are now promoting bacon as a health food (my favorite: Subway's "Atkins-friendly" wrap containing chicken, bacon, cheese, and ranch dressing).
With a huge proportion of the adult population in the U.S. now on a low carb regimen (a quarter? a third?), we should see results quickly. If Atkins and the various clones really work, we should see our national obesity epidemic abate, shouldn't we? Within a few months, won't we begin to see articles showing that the average adult weight has begun to decline? No? I don't think so, either.

Funny ... when I toiled at BK as a boy, people would order "vegetarian Whoppers" -- the buns and all the toppings but no meat.

We may live to see the "wish sandwich" become a reality in our lifetimes.

I guess now, it really will take two hands to handle a Whopper.
