"Although I voted against the ban a decade ago, over the past 10 years it has reduced crime dramatically and has made our streets safer," Warner said.

Too bad Senators aren't required to provide proof when passing brain farts.

BullSh*t! This clown has not read any of the reports from studies (one conducted by the Clinton DOJ itself) that conclusively show that the AW ban has NOT produced ANY reduction in violent crime. Another Enemy of Freedom. The true criminals are those in the US Senate who sit around collecting money from the taxpayers and then crapping all over the Constitution in return.

The Republican Congressional leadership better get this issue in hand; in this election year, only a moron would think that they could shaft RKBA advocates once again and retain power in the White House and the Senate. This election will be a watershed for the Republican Party - either 20 years of domination as the majority, or a rapid descent into minority status for a generation on the road to political oblivion. These idiots had better get their crap together.

Who are these traitorous RINOs in the Senate, so we can work like h*ll to get them diselected!

The lies these people tell to try to keep their power are no longer credible.

He's clearly not running again for election. I hope Ollie North will run again for the Senate, if he can take the pay cut.

Three Republican senators agreed Tuesday to support renewal of the soon-to-expire assault weapons ban

They picked up support Tuesday from GOP Sens. John Warner of Virginia, Mike DeWine of Ohio and Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island.

None of these three jokers suprise me. Warner voted for the gun show ban, as did DeWine and Chafee. Chafee's Dad wanted to ban em all.

McCain, Grassley, Fitzgerald, Voinovich, and McCain will likely vote for the ban as well.

I expect Hastert and the boys to screw us over in conference.

If they do that, the best hope is to get the House to kill the final version of the bill.

Well, since in today's world you need 60 votes to get anything passed in the senate (to get over any filibuster), what kind of chance does the renewal have?

"Although I voted against the ban a decade ago, over the past 10 years it has reduced crime dramatically and has made our streets safer," Warner said. "The legislation also has protected the rights of gun owners better than many of us predicted." Senator John Warner (R-ino) VA

This explains the answer I got today when I called his office. "The senator hasn't taken a position yet." My ass.

I am tired of being incrementally criminalized. If I'm to become a felon, I'll go as a lion and not a lamb.

This is the typical type of legislation Rinos and NRA dupes would get behind and brag about. Senator Warners ignorant statement... "Although I voted against the ban a decade ago, over the past 10 years it has reduced crime dramatically and has made our streets safer," Warner said. "The legislation also has protected the rights of gun owners better than many of us predicted."

...is profoundly illustrative of the destructive vote buying Moderates that infest the rank and file of Republican leadership. SAFER??? REDUCED CRIME??? Upon what information does this fool make these conclusions? ALL honestly done surveys and statistics state the exact opposite.(See John Lott) The influence of 30+ States with CC is gratuitisly brushed aside. No "protection of gun owner's rights" has ever been researched based on the "Assault weapons ban".

And realizing that all law suits against gun manufacturers have been effectively lost, the use of the protection legislation is a red herring, a moldy bait only for the ignorant constituant.

Such "legislation by trade of right" is just the kind of eye candy that appeals to the NRAILA.

The administration urges the Senate to pass a clean bill

Damn it!!! I hate the election years and We have just started this one...

GOP Sens. John Warner of Virginia, Mike DeWine of Ohio and Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island.

No suprise here. Warner and DeWine are given "F" grades and Chafee an "F-" by GOA.
