The Calif Supreme Court has 6 of 7 judges appointed by republican governor. I haven't followed them much, but are you confusing them with the 9th Circus Court of Appeals?

The semicolon judge was just a dirtbag federal trial court district judge. He was not on the 9th circuit court of appeals.

".... respondents are directed to enforce and apply the provisions of Family Code sections 300, 301, 308.5, and 355 without regard to respondents' personal view of the constitutionality of such provisions, and to refrain from issuing marriage licenses or certificates not authorized by such provisions"

Does the phrase bitch slapped come to mind?

when I first moved here in '91 I registered at the voter registration drives on the street. The first three times I indicated I was a Republican and never received my registration. The 4th time I indicated Democrat and shazaam my card was in the mail. I'm a DINO.

If you want to re-register, you should mail in your application form directly to the county registrar's office. Don't depend on the GOTV people to mail the form for you.

blood tests are being waived.

Blood tests aren't required in California or in most other states to get a marriage license.
(What were they ever supposed to test for, anyway? HIV, family relationship, Rh factor compatibility, or something else?)

If California no longer has left-wing kooks on its Supreme Court, how is it that challenges to California's anti-Second Amendment laws go nowhere in this judiciary? Answer me that.

California doesn't have the RKBA in its state constitution. People are trying amend it; see here for news, and get a petition to circulate if you're in CA:

Doesn't matter. The states cannot usurp the Constitution of the United States of America.

Could you please post the "Village People - Kalifornia Supreme Court" graphic that ambrose mentioned? That sounds interesting.

Thanks!
That's funny!

I always pictured these gutless mice as jack-in-the-box clowns. I find it incredible that the Kalifornia Supreme Court didn't simply say, "What are you bothering us with this nonsense for? The law says that marriage is between a man and a woman. That's the law so if it's not between a man and a woman, then it's not a lawful marriage. Freakin' duh. Now get outta here."

No. Instead these worms gotta think about it for awhile and "rule" in a couple of months.
Unbelievable.

I wonder if Rosie was ever pissed that she and her girl had to fly all the way out to California, when the City of New Paltz in upstate NY was hooking up lesbos there...

Something I've wondered, doesn't California have any residency requirements for marriage? Or did Newsom just figure that as long as they're breaking one law, why not two?

Read at NRO/Corner a suggestion (tongue-in-cheek) to put a temporary moratorium on ALL marriages until the matter gets sorted out. I think it is quite a brilliant suggestion and would very swiftly settle many matters in one blow. Including knuckle-rapping the legislative and judicial bodies proposing such a "moratorium". The idea has started my day out beautifully! :)

State officials such as Mayor Gavin Newsom and State Legislator Jackie Goldberg are supposed to "lead by example

Add Migden to that ...as controller of the CA Board of Equalization she should be in her office tending to the peoples business...not performing illegal marriage ceremonies ....did she take a leave of absense............?

Peter Ilgenfritz and Dave Shull, pastors at
University Congregational Church in Seattle,
are among six couples that filed suit after
being denied a marriage license.
