The gorilla off Mickelson's back, a Bernhard Langer win forcing him perhaps to play as captain of the Ryder Cup team or perhaps a Tiger record tying charge?
Who will it be today??

Phil was universally criticized for pitching in that minor league baseball game last year. Since then his whole approach to golf has changed. Do you think any of the commentators will speculate that he might have learned something from his attempt to play baseball?

Well this made my day! If Phil Mickelson can win the Masters, I can finish the Motorola Marathon.

Absolutely the best Master's I've ever seen. I'm glad Lefty left little Phil at home today. It's the smartest golf I've ever seen him play. I was stunned at the fairway metal off the tee on 18. Brilliant!
Everyone who knows golf knows he had the Sandy Lyle putt and everyone knew the line, but Bobby Jones smiled down from Heaven today and showed him the line through DeMarco. "Don't screw this up Phil, we're counting on you today." Phil already knew he was going to make it and obliged. Golf if the better for it. Wow, what a day!

What a Master's.
The emotion of Tom Watson learning of Bruce's death Thursday morning.
Arnold taking his ball out of the cup at 18 on Friday and looking back over the course for the final time, the hint of tear in his eye.
An Amatuer finishing at E for the first time sine 1962.
2 Aces in back to back groups at 16.
And finally Phil Mickelson shaking the monkey of his back and putting on the green jacket.

HE called his wife his life partner...that kind of concerned me...is Phil a liberal???

Very entertaining afternoon.
The announcer said that only the top 16 have an automatic berth in next years Masters.
Tiger didn't finish in the top 16, but I guess since he is a previous champion, he gets an automatic berth also. Don't know.
Does anyone know, how one qualifies for the Masters. I guess winning a PGA tournament or either the US or British Open would qualify a golfer.

One of the greatest Masters 'tooniments' I've ever seen! (as Hootie says)

Former Masters champions receive a lifetime exemption. The top players in other major championships also receive invites (how high you must finish varies by major, I believe), and there are also exemptions based upon YTD earnings.

Even the 19 year old Okie St. kid gets his exemption for next year! (top 20)

James Caviezel as Bobby Jones! That should be a good movie (or it could be the most boring movie ever made!)

It was an amzing tournament. The two golfers(Harrigan and Triplett) who scored the back to back aces on hole 16 put them in the top 16 and automatic invitations to next years Masters.

Great Tournament - loved to see Phil pull it out after going from up 2 to down 3.
He did have that smile working - somehow he knew it was his day.
If he would have lost, that little putt he missed at the begining of the round would be replayed endlessly.
