[VANITY] A good Paleonconservative magazine?
26 April 2004

I've been reading National Review for a while now, and thoroughly enjoying it--save for a few writers whom I cannot stand (*coughDavidFrumcough*). But I'm beginning to think that I really ought to get a good Paleoconservative magazine to balance it out and diversify my thought.

What would you all recommend? I know Chronicles is kind of the "flagship" mag for Paleocons, but I've heard good things about The American Conservative, as well. What are some of the differences between the two, and which would you prefer? Or is there a third magazine that would be better still?

TOPICS: Culture/Society; Miscellaneous; Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: americanconservative; chronicles; magazine; magazines; paleocon; paleocons; paleoconservative; paleoconservatives

Well, one positive is always a good sign.

?

I was always under the impression that Horowitz was a Neoconservative (in the correct sense of the word: he was a red-diaper baby who left the Left).

I wouldn't call DH a neocon--for one reason--I read him and like him. He is a big supporter of the WOT and Israel--but the neocons don't own those issues. I believe his pet issue, closest to his heart, is academic freedom. He also features Ann, and girly neos wouldn't do that.

I wish we could put both paleos and neos behinds us. I'm tired of both of them.
