Chris Wallace Leaves me in Tears

Chris Wallace advertised his Sunday news show as a time to put the names of our fallen soldiers in context.

Ted Koppel had simply read the names of the soldiers who have sacrificed all, the last full measure of devotion, for us to live in peace and for the Iraqis to have a unique and blessed chance to find peace and security and democracy. So, Chris Wallace decided to have a show to put those sacrifices in context, and talk about all the good things that the American soldiers had done in Iraq.

So, I tuned in, and I am still sobbing and shaking with anger remembering how he started the show with over fifteen minutes of a rehash of the last 10 days feeding frenzy over the terrible abuses a few soldiers had perpetrated on some Iraqi prisoners.

CONTEXT?!?!

THIS is the context you want me to remember our war dead!!

You garbage, you thoughtless garbage!

I was too upset to watch the "tribute" which came after the filthy trash.

I'll never watch that cruel, demented show ever again.

I'm going to write a letter when I can leave out the expletives deleted.

Chris Wallace was a TERRIBLE choice for Fox News. I can't watch the Sunday show anymore.

It's one thing to present his Democrat friends for interviews, but to dishonor our war dead this way is so evil and disgraceful, I can't find words to express my anger and sorrow.

Sorry to hear this was the outcome of what was a great idea. I see the tyranny of the few has stomped all over the greater good again. Leave it to Chris Wallace.

Hmmm....I thought it was way underdone for being advertised as a tribute but he did bring out some accomplishments of the troops that I didn't know about.

I'm not a Chris Wallace fan either. After seeing the less than stellar effort that went into a tribute that had been advertised for a week, I can only conclude it was done as a slap at Koppel and not much more.

I don't agree at all. Ok he talked about what had happened this week then he told the other side of the story and said more will come in the future.

I find my Fox News watching has gone waaaaaay down since they started being just part of the spin circuit. Madalin Albright is a definite no way to viewing. Where are the counter views to the media?

Now would be a time to shine for FNC. To expose the Hitlary and Kennedy and Kerry as trying to gin up another viet nam defeat. To expose how they need soldiers to die in order for the democrat party to still be viable.

Instead FNC is bending over FRONTWARDS to facilitate democrat party spin.

Wow. It is hard to believe that it was that bad in dishonoring America.

Maybe it doesn't hit you the same way. We lost a young man in our small town last month. I've been sending care packages to soldiers for years and have a cousin who was career Army.

Does any family of a soldier or a former soldier see this the way I do, or agree with billva that it's no big thing.

FOX hired the head of NBC as the new news editor. Look for some major changes in FOX.

I just saw this program and I had the exact opposite reaction as you. I felt he presented a tremendously favorable and positive perspective on what our soldiers were doing when they died and I felt that he offered such positive and edifying context to counter the focus of the week.

That's exactly how I took it. I even began to relish the thought that liberals would be squirming about how 'pro-American' it was sounding.

Thank you, I had the same reaction and posted above, but you said it better.

I couldn't take and turned it off during the first segment and back on for the "Tribute". Without Tony Snow, the Fox News Sunday is just another media hit piece on conservatives.

The tribute was nice...

But I posted a response to Wallace's hack remark in the Sunday Talk Thread:

Chris Wallace (FoxNews Sunday): 'We were astonished at all we saw (improvements) in Iraq.'

That is a huge admission, Chris. All the media has been so focused on gotchas and news-soundbites that they have overlooked and ignored the progress taking place.

Most on FR aren't astonished, Chris. We've read the emails and 'good' reports from blogs. We are proud of what our Military have done and are doing. Astonished, no. Proud, you bet!

Chris, maybe the media should be more at gathering 'real' news about 'real' events and less agenda oriented. I'd bet if they were, they wouldn't be so 'astonished' at the good news our good guys are doing.
