Classic case of liberal illogic here. No one is trying to tell anyone whom they can or cannot LOVE, just whom they can and cannot marry. Note to liberals: marriage is not a "right"!
"Mine".
a gay childrens movie?? and i though pokemon was bad.
The orginal was okay , i didnt care for the attack on Eisner (head of disney) they made him a midget yet he is clearly taller than the people who run the company who came out with shrek.
Also I dont get how this has anything to do with being gay? its a male and female ogre. They might have had a point if the princess was still human and then it could be close to inter racial marriage.
Shrek is one of those classic "eh" films. You hear everyone talk about how awsome it was, then you go see it and you say "eh"
also as another person said "its a seinfeld joke"
what a maroon.
It was tacked onto the end of any discussion or statement about someone being homosexual so as not to be perceived as bigoted or prejudiced...either by the other party to your conversation or statement or any nearby PC-Nazi.
Here Here
"Barbara Manatee...you are the one for me..."
was once a tagline of mine.
Our 4 year old loves the VeggieTales, and I'll admit I love them too. Nearly each morning, she races down the stairs ahead of me, and puts on her VeggieTales CD. If I had a nickel for each morning I come down the stairs to:
"If...you...like...to...talk...to tomatoes..."
I'd have a lot of money.
HAving seen Shrek 2, I can categorically state that Shrek and Fiona are male and female Ogres... not two GAY ogres... not two LESBIAN ogres.
Sheeeesh...
I can't imagine anyone staying in a chat group with individuals like that. Not just because it's so repulsive, but the people you describe aren't worth your time.
You're not alone in your convictions.
These people are pathological.
The movie is great.
There are no Gay references.
See the movie. You will have a good time.
I think the last paragraph says it all. Specifically where the "reviewer" mentions "choice". Who in their RIGHT mind would spend a lifetime chasing after the ideals Hollywood perscribes? I don't believe his reference to "open-mindedness" is the same as mine.
Actually, that was one of Cinderella's "Ugly Stepsisters" - you may have missed that line in the pell-mell scene of the Poisoned Apple bar.
As Private Ryan put it - she fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
She was voiced by Larry King.
She was not a male crossdresser... the King of Far, Far Away came in looking for "the Ugly Step-Sister" and the bar tender admitted that was she... very ugly.
Ya i figured that thier wasn't any gay references in a childrens movie.
Thanks. And no, I didn't stay. I've removed the site's bookmarks from my machines, and haven't been back since. It's a shame, because it's a rare site in that an unproduced screenwriter can hang out with and make friends with highly successful screenwriters. Success and connections just aren't that important to me.
MM
Could she have been just as ugly without the male voice?
In the end, maybe it's not harmful to a six year old, but to me it evokes questions which I would rather deal with later.

Actually, the movie isn't pushing a gay agenda. The review is trying to hijack a movie to promote a gay agenda he would LIKE the movie to be promoting. Its somewhat akin to when gay groups go back in time and label every famous person is history as being secretly taking it in the *ss. Its revisionist history, but its not true just because they say it is.
I think my comment "I can't imagine anyone staying in a chat room with individuals like that" was a little ambiguous.
I meant to say that the reason no one in the discussion sided with your assertions of morality might have been that anyone with convictions similar to your own was unlikely to have remained in the discussion for long, and hence would not be present to back you up.
Mark Davis (WBAP 9am-noon) said he will try to get this clown to come on his show next week and explain himself.
