I hate to be the first to say it, but add to the sins of the libs and the lib media another aggregious double-standard.
I'm talking about Brig. General Janice Karpinski, and I'm saying, "just take a look at her."
The entire picture, her 'look', the prison-matron job, the out-of-control sexual/sadist element of the story ---- it's all of a piece with a 1950's "prison sex" movie, and Ge. Karpinski is right out of central casting for her part.
I'm talking about "ugly" here, both pysically, spiritually, and sexually.
Now here's the double standard. It's called "the lib treatment of Linda Tripp".
We all know that the libs allowed themselves a pass on the rules of "sexual enlightenment" when it came to Linda Tripp.
The libs fell over each other in trying to accuse her as "ugly", hideous, unfeminine -- once the politically-correct-feminism treatment was complicitly "self-waived" it was open season for comedians, Saturday Night Live, and the rest.
And now we have -- General Karpinski, who everything that Linda Tripp was (falsely) accused of being, and we have --- silence, a strange and overt incuriousity about the obvious, and a totally misplaced focus on others who bear 1/100 of the blame that clearly appears to be Karpinsky's.
So the double standard lives on -- and I'm wondering -- how Linda Tripp feels about all this?
How about the "affirmative action" that promoted this women way beyond her skill level...
As I said before, the liberal medias most powerful weapon, when selectively used to attain their agenda on a particular issue, is silence. And their across-the-board conformity is an example of unanimity and teamwork any other political group should seek to emulate.
Good observations. The liberals have abandoned the Old Left (c. 1930s-1950s) style of critical analysis and reasoning, and have taken up the New Left tactic of taking power by any means necessary. They will stop at noting to continue what the leftist Antonio Gramsci called, "the long march through the institutions."

Given that she's a cancer survivor, owed untold amounts for lawyers, been laughed at countless times by late-night hosts, probably threatened several times by the Clintons, and who knows what else...I'd imagine that she doesn't give a rip about it anymore. If I were in her place, I'd just be enjoying the fact that I'm still alive and spend every moment with my kids.

sorry for double post!
I remember Al Franken on the Comedy Central coverage of the 1996 Democratic Convention. This was before he became a completely narcissistic DNC hack, and was actually funny sometimes. He made some good cracks about the Convention. When Barb Jordan spoke, he said she reminded him of "a black Pat" (referring to his SNL character).
But then he almost immediately apologized - profusely - the apology lasted at least 30 seconds.
Notwithsatanding the fact that the apology was unnecessary, would he have afforded the same courtesy to Condi Rice?
"Ugly" was attached to females who got in Clinton's way as surely as "stupid" is attributed to any conservative. Linda Tripp, Paula Jones, even Kathleen Harris, who's gorgeous. Of course it was unfair and if anyone's ugly, it's the name-callers.
"Typical Clinton era stuff, it's systematic. I hope she goes down hard."
Brig Ge. Karpinski wasn't fit to fun a sewing circle, let along a prison. She operated that prison like Clinton did the Oval Office like a frat/whore house.
I agree completely.
Doubt that she can sew, though! Doesn't look the type! LOL!
When I see this women all I can think of is a women in
"Porkey's" I think her name was Miss Ballbuster or something
similar.
BG Karpinski was nothing less than an "affirmative-action" promotion from the era of the regime of the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001". She was a mole put into place to undermine the future effectiveness of the mission of the unit to which she was assigned. She owes her position to those who had a political agenda to destroy the integrity of the armed services.
In fact, a closer examination of the individuals involved with the "scandal" at Abu Ghraib may reveal that they are/were all "anti-war" activists, that had gotten into the service for the eventual benefits that they would accrue: a marginal preference in hiring, the GI Bill for education purposes, quickest job they could get into out of high school, chance to escape an undesirable home situation, and a cover for bad behavior. The willingness do lay down their lives for their country would be surprisingly low on their list of priorities.
There has always been a similar underground among soldiers of every nation, the unreliable, the malcontents, the potential deserters, and the walking court-martial defendents. These happened to get into a position where they could make mischief. Which they did.
I don't know if she is culpable and I don't know if she is an AA General, though I suspect she is, but I do know that she is an unabashed supporter ot the Iraq theatre in the WOT and for that I give her credit.
Couldn't have stated that better myself. Right on. (Your tagline: I am an embroiderer, for God's sake! Can you get any more bronze age that that? Just so you know you are not alone.)
I have not heard a single good thing about that unit.
I used to embroider, but I can't see well enough any more.
This woman is fluent in Arabic, that's why she maintains her job... that and the media doesn't want to betray a woman, God forbid.
