I'm at the point where I feel like the President needs to have a primetime conference, complete with charts showing what he ACTUALLY said and how the media is twisting it as they report on the 9/11 commission, in an attempt to discredit him...what has happened in media in the last day is just ridiculous. Baldfaced lies in papers like the NYT (for instance, asserting that a connection between 9/11 and Iraq was one of Bush's "central" reasons for the Iraq war). Such over-the-top smears can't go uncontested. (Cheney did a good job on CNBC...)

Time to pull a page out of the Reagan playbook and take the case directly to the American people.

I wish he would do that too. Remember how he was able to explain the stem cell issue three years ago?

He can make people understand. He did an outstanding job explaining stem cell research. Most people considered that issue why too complicated to understand before his speech. Most people understood it fine when he was done.

Time for him to pull up a blackboard and explain all this.
