Why the feds in Houston and not Bill Lockyer? I mean, he was the one who wanted to go after the guy so Bubba (the ordinary decent criminal, not the hellspawn ex-president) would have some company.

And furthermore, if I'm not mistaken, this was already posted a few hours ago.

The one I'm curious about was Rebecca Mark (sp?) an executive of Enron who was in competition for the top spot - but lost to Jeffrey Skilling and left the company roughly a year before it cratered. The press treatment of Enron has been rather distorted - particularly the portrayal of heroic and virtuous women blowing the whistle on the operation. I believe it will be shown that Mark's ineptitude and unwise investments overseas may have been the cause of the resort to the illegal ventures that Fastow, Skilling and perhaps Lay approved of - in order to cover some of the shortfall from the bungling Mark perpetrated.

As I recall she left the company with about $60M in stock - and was gone  long enough to have been able to unload it before it was worthless. The press hasn't seemed interested in covering what she did, what she got out of the firm (and it's shareholders).

Just part of a general unwillingness for the business press to honestly tackle misdeeds and mismanagement if practiced by a woman (Jill Barad at Mattel, Marcie Fuller at Mirant, etc. etc. etc.).

Because, newbie, GW Bush is involved in this evil plot to take over the world and it'll be easier to get reelected and take the Sudetenland and then the world if he's got a fall guy. Ooh, don't be fooled Ken Lay is just setting himself to be Bush's deputy under a ZOT world order. Buh-bye, troll.

How long did the trial for Fastow last? Several months? Newspapers like the NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post, Dank n' Blather, Tombo Broken and socialist canadian Petah Jankins will keep the trial on the front page or every night through the election in November (that's 5 months from now). Keep in mind the demoncRATS have tried everything to link the Bush Administration to Ken Lay and the collapse of Enron. Thus far, they can't because he's linked to the clintoon administration, but they keep trying. Currently, the demoncRATS have tried everything in their depleted arsenal to cause a "gate" scandal but have failed. This trial is political on surface. Now there's a class action lawsuit against Global Crossing that I signed papers on last week declaring the value of stock lost. No one seems to want to connect the DNC Chair Terry McAuliffe to his $18 million profit of illegal trading in Global Crossing. So using an old demoncRAT ploy of staying on the offensive, they'll get their media buddies to keep trying to link the Pres. and Ken Lay and Enron debacle through the November election. Anything to get the voters to think negatively Bush; they'll lie, cheat or steal to accomplish that. After the election (heaven forbid that Ketchupman would win), the media will offer a backhanded apology like they did the elder Bush. For example, all through the '92 election, the media kept on the front page and every night on the evening news about how bad the economy was. Day after the November elections, I opened up the newspaper to read in bold letters that the economy wasn't so bad as everyone feared. The demoncRATS will do the Pres. the same way. We Freepers can't let that happen to our beloved Pres. as the demoncRATS try to put nails into the Pres. over this Ken Lay & Enron trial.
