ACT stooges show up in rural America
me | me

Posted on 06/26/2004 2:40:46 PM PDT by cupcakes

I had an interesting encounter today while at my sil's house. First, let me start by saying that we were out in very rural Ohio visiting my sil. As we were leaving, 2 college age men came by with "Americans Coming Together" shirts on knocking at my sil's door. Big deal, right. The dems had their stooges out hitting the pavement trying to muster up votes. Well, here is the big deal about it...

They come up to the door as we were leaving, asking for my sil's oldest daughter BY NAME! This girl does not attend college, does not have any interest in politics, is on drugs, welfare, WIC, has a one year old son out of wedlock, and the whole kit and kaboodle. It then occured to me that these guys had a list for the area they were contacting and that list had to come directly from those who are ON PUBLIC ASSISTANCE!!!! There is just no other way they would have had my sil's daughter's name, no other way. Now maybe this isn't new for some of you more seasoned folks out there, but I thought this was so underhanded and disgusting. Folks, this area has a lot of teenage mothers who live with their parents so I can only assume these boys had their little roster of welfare recipients and they were sniffing around for votes. They also had a pretty big bag with them and hubby was dying to know what 'freebies' they were carrying around in it--we speculated cigarettes or coupons for cigarettes since this area has a high concentration of smokers too ie have a pack and vote for Kerry.

In case you are wondering, I walked by them and hubby and I continued to converse with one another in earshot about how something just jogged our memory about putting on our Bush 2004 sticker. Also, SIL is a die hard Union person and told them point blank that she doesn't care for Bush, but she cares even less for Kerry and does not intend to vote for him. She said something to the effect that she's a proud American and could not in good faith submit her vote for an extreme leftist and still consider herself such. I was proud of her. Thankfully the stooges did not get access to the welfare mom. Hubby laughed anyway that they might get her registered, but good luck making someone who can't even make her own child a priority care about walking into a voting booth. Unfortunately dems know this and probably would bus her in with offers of a freebie. I'm convinced if their constituency were left to their own devices, they'd lose by far more than they do.

Did you get a distinct odor of government cheese from that bag? Oh wait - that could have been the rats themselves - Did you make sure you carried Fabreeze with you to spray?

I work for the USPS, and there is NOTHING that chaps my backside more than having to deliver the liars, er, flyers that these moron and the AARP mail out.

That, and having a postmaster that is a diehard Dem....

ACT is a subordinate group within the "Democratic Socialists of America".
Socialists keyword is "progressive":

I wish some of the kooks would come to my house. I doubt they would get out of the car as soon as they see the three flags in my front yard-------the Stars and Stripes, the Stars and Bars and a Don't Tread On Me. If they come to the door they will see an NRA door knocker, a sticker saying this house protected by Smith and Wesson and an alternative door knocker of a never used cable gun lock!!!!

I did wonder what the annoying stench was coming from their direction and yes, I keep a small thing of febreeze in the car--probably not enough to do any damage.
We could kick ourselves for not engaging them further and seeing what was in the bag, but we had our newborn and 4 yr son with us and they were getting antsy. BTW, they chose not to engage us after our comment to one another--Of course between driving a new vehicle, the Jesus fish on the back, and our wedding rings denoting us as a married couple was probably like a cross being held up to a vampire.

No, looked more like your average college "sensitive male" type who is still rebelling against the middle class parents who put their dopey behinds through college.

I bet that has to be difficult. I'd have to fight the urge not to destroy mail.

My deepest apologies to you having a dem for your postmaster--that's gotta be tough.

You are exactly right. It is why I chose to post this here and let you all know what they are up to in the heartland. Thanks for the links.

No doubt, like I said, that stuff is probably like a cross aimed at a vampire. Of course, you probably are not on their "preferred list" of contacts either. That seems reserved for those on welfare, food stamps, and/or those with a criminal history.

If only it were so easy. We could line voting booths with garlic.

I work for the USPS, and there is NOTHING that chaps my backside more than having to deliver the liars, er, flyers that these moron and the AARP mail out.

There was a thread on FR a few weeks ago about British mailmen refusing to deliver election materials for right-wing parties that they don't like. Amazingly, their contracts allow them to refuse to deliver any mail they "disagree with."

The materials did get delivered, by management, because UK law requires that somebody deliver legitimate mail, but you ought to think twice about what sort of country we'd live in if USPS employees could pick and choose what they want you to read.

I just deal with ACT solitication letters the old-fashioned way: Rip my name off the pages, stuff just enough paper back in the Business Reply Mail envelope to make it weigh around two ounces, and send it on its way. I figure between the cost of printing, mailing both ways, then paying someone to open and toss the contribution-free envelope, it probably costs ACT about $1 all told to deal with it. And that's one less dollar they can use to attempt to destroy this country.

Even better, I'm on my seventh ACT letter so far. They must be using the same mailing lists over and over, because I only subscribe to a single liberal publication (it was free). And I do the same thing to John Kerry letters.

In a related post, more about DSA can be found here. Nancy Pelosi is a member of the infamous "Progressive Caucas":

I wish the same. Only with me they would spend 2 or 3 hours in conversation before they realized I was just wasting their time so they couldn't be going to other doors.

Don't forget - the DSA is the American chapter of the Communist Party Internationale - "The" Communist Party. Any of our lawmakers who call themselves "progressives" are in fact card carrying members of the Commmunist Party. Last time I checked, there were 78 of them in Congress and the entire DLC were members as well.

No, there's no difference between the islamists and the Rats. Enemies are enemies - foreign or domestic doesn't matter anymore.

Thanks for posting the links to DSA. I posted an article on them back during the 2000 elections attempted coup, and I'm glad to see others doing the same today. We've got to get the word out exactly who our opponents are.
