Its only 60 feet to the plate!!!! My 78 year old father-in-law throws farther than that! (he is one hell of a man, BTW. Was in the South Pacific in WW II, He was slated to be in the first wave of the invasion of Japan. He walked through Hiroshima just weeks after the bomb was dropped. Never tell him that Truman was wrong to drop the bomb. He'll kick your @$$ into next week!)
I am about as non athletic as you can be and could at least get the darn thing to the friggin' plate. Come on!
I am... You're missing 1-3 syllables in that line, at my count... I did have five semesters of music theory in college too, I'm not just guessing.
you mean ESPN's tribute to John Kerry...
They've shown that clown on t.v. g***amn 4,678 times by the second inning
Interesting.
A metaphor for a nightmarish Kerry presidency that would expect a CIC to toss support to the troops, but have it never quite get there?
A true Ah-nuld "girly-man".
So he comes up short...
Wonder if Tereeza has noticed the same thing.
or
So Kerry pitches like he campaigns...
Throws it into the dirt.
The World Series, Two Thousand One, The first game it had just begun. Dubya Bush let the first pitch fly. It flew by. T'was a stri [ke]. In July in two thousand four, A Democrat tried to tie the score. He'd pitch one too--any pitch would do-- though people would have to ask why.Not great, but I think it fits the rhyme and meter of the original verse.
That would be lib Brian Whitman.
Well, sorta. Check syllable stresses:
I don't CARE if I EVer get BACK.
AT least IT wasn't HILLary [W]ITCH. [DFU]
[At] LEAST it WASn't that HILLary [W]ITCH. [Thoughtomator]
Moving "at" to a pickup note (or leaving it out altogether) improves the word stress pattern for the next few notes, even if it necessitates adding another syllable elsewhere.
Did you ge a load of Russet yucking it up with Biden. It looks downright orgasmic.
A girl threw the shotput 60 feet.
Different dream realized;

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Laura Gerraughty, the North Carolina senior who once dreamed of being an Olympic gymnast, will be going to the Games in a far different event -- the shot put.
Gerraughty won the women's shot put final at the U.S. Olympic trails Friday night with a throw of 60 feet, 8 1/2 inches.
"I shaking, I'm just so excited," Gerraughty said as she prepared to go to the victory stand at Sacramento State's Hornet Stadium. "I can't wait to represent my country in Athens."
looking at the pic of Lurch attempting to catch a football..makes you think about a line drive foul ball into the stands. right about where Lurch is sitting. hehehe
Sung out along with the tune, it makes a lot more sense with the word "that" in there, imho. "At" does become a grace note in this context, which works because the word "at" by itself doesn't deserve any stress (unless you are making a direct comparison to the use of a differing preposition, which I don't think is happening here).
Forgot to mention he's a Liberal Talk radio guy on WABC.
He's on just prior to Drudge in case anyone cares.
Thanks, gotta admit I burst out laughing when I saw how bad it was. Hole On oNes pics are the pics you wont see anywhere else though.
Just saw a clip of Brokaw, Russert and Couric licking Kerry's ass in the box. Media Bias? Naaaaaahhhhhhhhh
It's not a "W." It is a "B."
Okay. I learned my lesson. I will have to leave the songwriting to the experts.
GAWWWWWWWWWDDDD...I LOVE THAT AHHHHOLD! Bawhahahhaha! Lurch is such a "GIRLIE MAN"...:}
Don't let me discourage you... it's just constructive criticism. I know you have a thick enough skin for it, you've been here long enough!
