Could embarrassment over not having translators be the true motive or is this just more whitewash ?

29 recommendations . . . The Clinton administration is reported to have only adopted one of its proposals.

And yet Clarke tried to blame our President for the results of Slick Willy's incompetence.

I don't get it.

Well, I think this is just a small part of it.

The only item so far to come to light that would explain Berger's knowing willingness to commit a felony is that he may have leaked that we were observing a camp Osama frequented to the government of UAE - leading Osama to find out in short order and escape the potential trap.

Ya know, to show our appreciation for the NYPost and the Washington Times, we should all make a point of actually BUYING their papers tomorrow.

That isn't all NYP, it won't go away with this tiny admission. It's much bigger. We do NOT belive this was ALL it was about.

The truth is probably that there are about 20 different things that they're trying to cover up...

Question: Have these tapes been translated and if so did the 911 commission hear them.....

If so what did they say?

If not can we do a FOIA request to hear them?

"It urged increased surveillance of Arab students coming into the United States ..."

Why let them enter the country in the first place!
Man, is this government stupid or what?

The report written by former White House counter-terrorism chief Richard Clarke also warned of the presence of al Qaeda cells inside the United States. It urged increased surveillance of Arab students coming into the United States and called for increased security at U.S. ports and other points of entry, investigators said.

So the papers Berger purloined ( or 'inadvertently' stuffed in his pants) included the proposals kerry put in his speech tonight?

I think this might be a motivating factor:

"...was among 29 proposals to tighten security contained in the report. The Clinton administration is reported to have only adopted one of its proposals."

With that bit of info in mind, how in the hell did the 9/11 Commission come to the conclusion that the Clinton Administration was no more responsible for 9/11 than the Bush Administration. This boggles my mind.

Government officials said the FBI had been conducting electronic surveillance of a mosque in Brooklyn frequented by Afghans in 1999 after developing information from the investigation of the U.S. embassy bombings in East Africa.

Sources said the FBI had “hours” of taped conversations between people associated with the unidentified mosque and suspected terrorist leaders.

But despite the potential intelligence value of the intercepted communications, stacks of tapes languished on the shelves at the FBI counter- terrorism center in downtown Manhattan because there were not enough translators.

Yet, we had no problem with having 10 Arabic translators for bill clinton's immediate disposal on the day after the OKC bombing.  Isn't that special.

Is it true that he was cleared of these charges?
