No. This case was ridiculous from the beginning - the Samoan kid was no doubt high-fiving his buddies when he was nailing the teacher - he was never 'victimized'. She may have been a wacko, but it is silly to call her a 'rapist'.

Sorry girls, there is a double standard. If the roles were reversed, the 7 1/2 year sentence was justifiable. The only reason why she got more time than the average murderer was to satisfy political correctness - heaven forbid that we actually admit the truth that it only would have been sexual assault if the teacher was male and the student female.

It is not ridiculous. A twelve-year-old child is not capable of giving informed consent for sex. The child's feelings of infatuation or sexual enjoyment do not legitimize child rape. The double standard is that people like you seem to think that it's ok for a teacher to take advantage of her position to groom a child for a sexual relationship and seduce that child as long as it's a boy! Do you look on him fathering two children at that age as a positive thing? How can you possibly think that this was not a horrible thing to happen to him? How would you feel if the teacher was a man and seduced him? Differently? How do you explain that double standard?

It's just sick and sad that he still thinks he's "in love" with a woman old enough to be his mother who took advantage of him as a child. Or would you tell me that it's possible for a child to have a healthy, loving sexual relationship with an adult? Go join NAMBLA, then.

She was a teacher. That's one of the factors for a high sentence. She was given a chance she should not have been given, and screwed up. That's why she served all of her time. She is categorized as a level 2 sex offender.

The real information from the trial and not the sappy news stories is pretty disgusting.
