VANITY: Swift Boat Question
TBP | Now | TBP

Posted on 08/10/2004 8:49:42 PM PDT by TBP

I need information.

The Associated Press is claiming that one of the authors of the book Unfit ofr Command is a FReeper who has posted some, ah, inteeresting things. (At least they mentioned us.)

AP reports as follows:

WASHINGTON (AP) - One of the authors of a new anti-John Kerry book frequently posted comments on a conservative Web site describing Muslims and Catholics as pedophiles and Pope John Paul II as senile.

But as he prepared to launch the book, "Unfit for Command," Jerry Corsi apologized for the remarks in an interview with The Associated Press Tuesday, saying they were meant as a joke and he never intended to offend anyone.

In chat room entry last year on freerepublic.com, Corsi writes: "Islam is a peaceful religion — just as long as the women are beaten, the boys buggered and the infidels are killed."

In another entry, he says: "So this is what the last days of the Catholic Church are going to look like. Buggering boys undermines the moral base and the lawyers rip the gold off the Vatican altars. We may get one more Pope, when this senile one dies, but that's probably about it."

Is there any truth to this or is it just liberal media spin? If so, what is the gentleman's screen name (as I'm sure he was either misquoted or quoted out of context)?

As long as people are honest and take responsibility for their actions...

If only Kerry had been honest and had taken responsibility ---- Oh! What am I saying?

MY QUESTION IS: this guy used a fake name here -- how did they tie him to the book????

He often signed his post as follows;

Jerome R. Corsi -- "jrlc" on FR

"Typical lib response... don't acknowledge the message, just attack the messenger."

Tuh roo! That's what Colmes did tonight, inferring that because of what Colmes deemed bigotted remarks (which had no relationship to the the Swift Boat Vets criticism of Kerry), the messenger was a liar. A typical response of a lib who slips into a state of cognitive dissonance when truth batters their world view.

Obviously the Left is nervous.

Their response to truth is always slander.

The Left believes that emotion and feelings can overcome stark reality.

It is the Achille's heal.

That is their great fear.

The shame is, his apology thread has been deleted. Granted, it was not all that coherent, but his intention was well understood.

For those of us who read the FR postings live all day, we see and remember them.

I can be frustrating when you try to help someone with a question and the original posting has been deleted.

It's true. The person apologised on Hannity today.

Wonder when John Kerry will apologize for calling his "Band of Brothers" war criminals, rapists and murderers?

"Media matters" put this stuff out.

They are in full battle mode.

What, pray-tell, can we do to them I ask?

It is high time for retribution.

jrlc is a great contributor and a PHD. He needs our support and backing. We all say crap on this forum. It is how we communicate.

Anyone on this forum is subject to this nonsense. A honest man made the mistake of revealing his real name and the rats are biting.

It's about time we bit back.

Suggestions?

Gee, I wonder why he said that? Surely their women are not beaten, their boys are not buggered and they really don't kill infidels, do they? Somebody help me out here.

So who runs mediamatters? (I know it's some pinko, but which one?)

(and there are those on this forum who believe they have Id'd me, too, eventhough I never use my name, BTW. That happens if you're a writer.)

If we can ID the clown behind mediamatters perhaps we can find out what skeletons are in his closet and where his bodies are buried.

I'm sure we can make his life a living Hell. And won't that be fun? Sounds like my old YAF days.

Yet the poster boy for the left, Michael Moore, portrays lies as truth and accuses our President of sending our soldiers to die for personal gain. That's okay though.

And who in the media, including the talking heads, and the press, have not made any risque or off-the-cuff comments or jokes? I'm sure if we heard what they said off camera, in their homes or on the phone would be quite interesting. What happened to the left's favorite mantra, "it's not my place to judge, judge not, I'm not judgemental like the religious right, blah blah blah"....

HERE IS OUR PROBLEM! What can be done about it?

Who We Are

Media Matters for America is a Web-based, not-for-profit progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.

Conservative misinformation is defined as news or commentary presented in the media that is not accurate, reliable, or credible and that forwards the conservative agenda.

For the first time, Media Matters for America has put in place a system to monitor the media for conservative misinformation – every day, in real time -- in 2004 and beyond.

Media Matters for America’s website — www.mediamatters.org — is the principal vehicle for disseminating research and information through a range of initiatives:

Media Monitoring: Comprehensively monitor a cross section of print, broadcast, cable, radio, and Internet media outlets to identify conservative misinformation.

Media Analysis: Analyze the monitoring data, including broader trends in media coverage of politics and public policy, and post reports detailing the ways in which conservative misinformation is disseminated through media. Reports will include:

Rapid-response items documenting conservative misinformation in each news cycle, posted to the website in real time.

Longer research and analytic reports, appearing several times per week.

Occasional reports of a broader scope, delving deeper than daily and weekly material. Inaugural Projects:

Democracy Project. Track and swiftly correct conservative media misinformation on major current political issues, with the goal of discouraging responsible news outlets from giving it credence.

Radio Project. Comprehensively monitor, analyze, and correct targeted political talk radio shows. Columnist Project. Monitor to ensure that dozens of syndicated columnists -- and the newspapers that publish them -- maintain journalistic standards in their opinion columns.

Activism Project. In the planning stages, the Activism Project will spur progressive activism based on standards and accountability in media.

Too late; it's already in the Dems talking points.

You get it better than 99% of the posters I've seen.

Once in a while, we agree.

Unfortunately, the Dems probably won't be running out of FR talking points anytme soon. Nothing to do but watch and hope they miss the obvious.
