Just reported on Fox News that Kerry has now responded to Swiftvets in a speech at a Firefighters convention. He says Swiftvets for Truth aren't interested in the truth. They are a front for Bush and funded by Republicans.

He is not responding by refuting the charges brought by the Swift Vets. He is attacking them and calling them names. Thats pretty much an indicator that what the Swift Vets are saying is, as Marissa Tomei said in My Cousin Vinny, "dead on balls accurate."
Its an industry term.

Clear indication he does not actually have a death wish. I caught the clip and I did not detect any response from the fire fighters. Of course, they could have cut away before any response occurred.
