"Crawford, Texas, where Cleland was at 1pm on August 25, is only 162 miles from Baird, Bill Burkett's home.

Did Cleland make a visit there that day?"

Doubt it. Burkett would have to meet Cleland; Cleland wouldn't drive 162 miles out of his way to meet Burkett. Not a chance. Maybe they met somewhere in between, but I seriously doubt it. Risky as hell.

That said, I still am convinced that "I Blowed Myself Up REAL Good" Cleland is in this up to his little, piggy eyeballs.

Well, the specifics of who met whom where is the least significant aspect. What is important is if Cleland and Burkett met.

I do however think Cleland would make the trip for something as important as this to the Kerry campaign. It was not some unimportant whim. This was the foundation for the entire "Operation Fortunate Forgery" smear campaign that the DNC tried to roll out against Bush. This was to be their "trump card". Kerry's election hopes were pinned on it.
