US missile 'kills Zarqawi aide'

The suspected spiritual leader of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's Tawhid and Jihad group has been killed in a US air strike in Iraq, reports say. Sheikh Abu Anas al-Shami was killed when a missile hit his car on Friday, according to relatives in Jordan.

The sheikh is believed to have written the group's fatwas or religious rulings and Mr Zarqawi's speeches.

Mr Zarqawi, the most wanted man in Iraq, heads the group thought to have killed two US hostages since Monday.

The US military had said it conducted a "successful precision strike" west of Baghdad on Friday, targeting a gathering of about 10 Zarqawi supporters.

Jordanian press reports quote the family saying that Mr Shami's car was hit by a missile as he was driving in an agricultural area in the Abu Ghraib region .

Relatives in the Jordanian capital Amman have been receiving condolences for the death since Tuesday, reports say.

Fundamentalist background

Also known as Omar Yousef Jumah, Mr Shami is reported to have gone to Iraq after the US invasion last year.

Clerics close to the family quoted by Associated Press said they had been surprised when they heard he had joined Tawhid and Jihad.

He had been a leading member of a small Salafist movement in Jordan that advocated the peaceful introduction of strict Islamic law in the kingdom, they said.

That was after studying Islamic theology in Saudi Arabia, they said.

Mr Shami lived in Kuwait until the Iraqi invasion in 1990 and, in the late 1990s, the Jordanian government reportedly closed down an Islamic centre that he had founded in Amman.

LOL. Thanks, but I saw that in a op-ed cartoon that appeared a while back right after we shot one up the tailpipe of a car full of terrorists in Yemen. I'm still looking for the cartoon, and I forgot who did it. It was a good one.

This makes my day, but we must do more of it.

In addition, the West as a whole needs to rethink how we deal with suicide bombers. I think the families of the suicide bombers should not be allowed to be paid by a rogue Saudi Prince or the like. The families of the suicide bombers must also be killed-- that is the only deterrent.

If a suicide bomber knew that his family would be killed if he
did what he did-- he would most likely not do it. We are being too soft, and it's killing us. No more Mr. Nice Guy. Israel should do it too. No more bull dozing of the house--kill the family. That's what they are forcing us to do, and I feel NO GUILT.

Too bad they don't have online funeral home guestbooks in Jordan, I'd like to leave a nice message.

Wouldn't that be cool?

I sure hope Abu Musab al-Zarqawi does not go into a depression like sadam.. boo hoo...
I can't wait to see how upset the dems will be over this horrible injustice done to zarqawi's aide.
I can't believe they are upset over sadam being depressed...

It's a start.

1) Catch Zarqawi alive.

2) Videotape him being drawn and quartered.

3) Broadcast World-wide.

The BBC 'is full of crap' with their 'Lefty headline scare quotes'.

Ever take a look at 'their site'?

Kudos to our troops for getting that bastard. But honestly, I don't want the head cameljism to go that way. I want us to capture him alive and saw off his head with an extremely dull bamboo saw so that his death lingers for 3 days while he's buried up to his neck in a pig sty. We should invite all the US Marines to use that place as a public urinal, film it all, and gleefully broadcast it on Al Jazeera and say that this is what we do to *our* infidels who defy America.

I know that sounds extreme, but I'm actually only getting warmed up as to what I want to do with these bastards.

I like to piss off liberals around here. Here's a good line you can use, btw. Whenever the subject of "what would you like to be in life?" turns up (or anything along that line), answer that you literally want to torture terrorists.

Most people will, of course look aghast or laugh and think that you are joking. I tell them that I'm not joking: that's my dream job.

It's satisfying to see people here in the Bay Area (Baghdad on the Bay) become outraged that I would actually consider torturing "another human being".

I love pissing them off. Maybe I'll blog this on my blog later today. It's always great to rant about the bastards.
