I don't know about drowned anything, but I do begin to detect the scent of "every man for himself" beginning to permeate the air at Black Rock.

Did you see the reporters over at the original "60 Minutes"? Looks like they're trying to throw the Wednesday crew under the bus.

I think the mapes prison story has been floating around for a while, but the MSM didn't want to expose one of their own so it was buried.

...I'm just glad that FOX is actually doing some investigative reporting for once. Aside from FOX's excellent weekend piece on the UN's Oil-for-guns program, they haven't been breaking anything in a long while.

Another lapse of journalistic ethics on Ms. Mapes' part.

Lapse? Why she's practicin' journalistic ethics. They may not be upright journalistic ethics. They may not be exemplary journalistic ethics. And to quote it the way a postmodern would say, "It may not be your journalistic ethics, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have her own set a journalistic ethics. You have your values; she has yours."

"See, there's no stains there on the CBS wall. Why, you may see black upon white spots; we see them only as gray. Others may see them as texas polka dots. It's all a matter of perspective."

There, do I sound like an authentic whitewasher or what?

Reporters have always stretched the meaning of the sheild that they receive under the First Amendment, much as countries fool around with diplomatic pouches and immunity.

Just look at the sheer number of parking tickets issued to diplomatic license-plated cars in New York and Washington, DC every year.

Ahhh, the Volokh(sp?) thesis about "moral relativism".

It's not Freepers I'm worried about. It's a big world out there, and I don't want anyone to vandalize her house, for example, then turn around and blame you (or any Freeper). I wouldn't put it past a liberal to try to pull something like that.

I realize that Ms. Mapes, being part of the media, probably has little regard for the personal privacy of others...but we should be more decent than that.

Please take this in the spirit it is intended.

"Dear Mary Mapes, The red dot is now on your head," writes blogger John Ellis in the latest of his open letters to the beleaguered producer. "Today is 'tone shift day,' the day when the tone of voice of your CBS colleagues (especially your 'superiors') changes dramatically. There's a distinct chill in the air, so to speak. Because today is the day that they begin in earnest to try to ruin the rest of your life." -- BEST OF THE WEB TODAY

"Walter Cronkite sang me a little sea chantey. The verse ended, 'Just watch your back with Dan Rather, dear, just watch your back with Dan.'" -- Connie Chung, quoted by MediaWeek, April 26, 1997

Maybe Mary Mapes will decide to sing like a canary when she realizes she's the goat. On the other hand, MamaT. may already be shelling out dough for Mary's lawyer. We'll have to connect lots of dots before we're done.

What scenario seems more likely?
Mary Mapes, thinking damned the consequences and, singing like a canary or an angle to the story that is too good to believe and is intended to be planted, discredited, and thereby making the promoters seem like folks that are so desperate that they'll use ANYTHING to promote an agenda?

Yup.

None of them are the brightest bulbs if they didn't catch on to these goings on before. From allegedly "investigative reporters". What a crock.

Or they were complicit or indifferent to what they knew was going on.

The whole lot of them are a disgrace, and many worse.

Ok, after making accusations about Brian Wilson, and then retracting them, (in your previous posts) you now want to see the documents from the prison warden? I wonder what your agenda is?

"Also what was said is Mapes holds strong Liberal views."

Is there anyone at CBS that doesn't? I doubt it because he or she would have ratted them out a long time ago.

Better all get on our pajamas. Lucy Ramirez is not in a prison in Colorado. She was last seen in a payphone booth in Chappaqua, calling someone named Burkett.

Truth.

I even called myself a "dumbass" regarding that statement.

You (also) be sure to ping me when said documents are presented for inspection.
