I don't know if this has been answered yet, but the White Supremicist dragged a black man to death behind his pickup truck.

He was the subject of a 60 minutes story that Mapes produced but wouldn't release the tapes when the police asked for them to protect her source.

(It's a good thing the guy didn't rape your daughter, eh?)

CBS eventually turned the tapes over after she was threatened with jail time.

She was looking at about 45 days in jail for contempt. CBS got her off the hook by agreeing to publish a transcript of the tape on its website.

She also seems inordinately camera shy. Probably the better to advance her own adgenda, as she most likely feels that she can be more effective if nobody has to look at that visage of her ;-)

I understand only purported transcripts of such tapes were turned over, not the tapes themselves.

From what I understand .. CBS worked out a deal .. they never handed over the tapes .. only the transcript
