just got fed up metro police chiefs giving out get out of jail free cards and permits to carry to all their retired
buddies while denying everyone else's carry permits.(this was before MN passed right to carry reform-now the chiefs can sit and spin.)
I don't see why police are a special case and get special
rights.
Since I don't know your area, I can't really comment on your last post. However, I would not lump all cops nation wide into what you see as a travesty in your area. Cops who are retired have carried for many years already. Are there bad apples? Sure. There are. But by and large a guy putting his butt on the line for 30+ years and making it to retirement (provided it's good to go) should have no reason but to carry nation wide. Favor's from chief's is another story and needs to be dealt with at your local level.
