Feds say Berger still under probe

The criminal investigation of former National Security Adviser Sandy Berger – accused of pocketing highly classified terrorism documents prior to the Sept. 11 Commission hearings – has disappeared from media coverage but not from the federal government's agenda.

A spokesman from the Department of Justice told WND that a criminal investigation was ongoing, but he would not provide details about the nature or timing of the probe.

Berger, who had served as national security adviser to John Kerry's campaign, was reported in July to be under investigation for removing the documents and handwritten notes from a secure reading room at the National Archives.

I wonder how long and how much tax money it takes to figure out its illegal to stuff government documents down ones pants for the purpose of hampering an investigation.

They also have to compile the evidence to make a strong case. Or not.

Yeah. They're going to pay people to conduct this probe for 30 years after Sandy Berger is worm food before deciding that he maybe, sort of, might possibly have done something questionable, but they aren't too sure.

If anyone doubts that money and political favors rule Washington, watch this case closely. Berger will walk; and with him goes the integrity of our classified information and storage system.

I guess I'd make a lousy investigator. Lets see. Yep definitely papers in the pants. Hand em over. Take him to jail, boys. Case closed. I guess thats why I am just a jammie clad stay at home freeper instead of a government investigator. LOL

And President Bush goes down in history as being personally responsible for 9/11.

Actually, the investigation had been going on for awhile and was still ongoing when the Dems thought they'd do a preemptive strike by leaking it. I think we'll definitely hear more about it, and I think the Dems are scared. That's why they have tried to make it sound like the whole thing had been concluded and tidied up long ago, while it is really still in process.

It is interesting to note the Clinton sent this dweeb to do this at a time that Berger was serving as an adviser to Kerry.
Is this another indication that the Clintons are working against the Kerry Campaign while working for it or is this another attempt by the weasel Clinton to cover is Ash or maybe both..

I think it is more a matter of making a strong case against all of the co-conspirators.  Once Berger was caught, almost certainly on camera, violating the law, not to mention endangering National Security, I'll guarantee you that the FBI went to a judge and got wiretaps for all phones that Berger would be using.  Those tapes would have led to the people he was stealing the documents for.

When you wish to charge a former President, three sitting Senators, one of whom is the current Democrat candidate for President, and probably several prominent members of the MSM, with Treason, you really need to have all of you facts nailed down.

Maybe, maybe not.  If you've got that kind of evidence and it is rock solid, the best thing for the country would be to show it to the traitors and convince them to throw the election.  If this Clancy like scenario plays out (exactly what happened in Clear And Present Danger, the book, not the movie) I'm looking for several October Surprises, but they'll be obviously self inflicted by the Kerry campaign.

I agree with you, but prosecutors tend to over-prepare because they hate to lose.

I absolutely find it hard to believe that there were no cameras.

Do you really believe that? I am of the firm belief that this country is suffering greatly due to the unpunished crimes of the Clinton administration. Letting Berger off the hook, in exchange for an election we should win anyway, would be a grave mistake, IMHO.

Color me unconvinced on this point. The only real effect of doing this would be to tell the traitors to do a more competent job of treason next time. I really think that the American public needs to know whether or not the the Democratic Party leadership contains traitors to America, and that we're able to take it as grown-ups.
