Sen. John Edwards on Fox News Sunday (TRAIN WRECK ALERT)
Fox News Sunday ^ | Sunday, October 10, 2004

Posted on 10/11/2004 12:12:35 AM PDT by igoramus987

WALLACE: Senator, the numbers don't add up... Well, I want to follow up on precisely that point, because in Friday's debate, Senator Kerry said that he would cut the deficit in half during his first term, he would cut taxes for the middle class, but he also had all these new spending programs.

Are you saying right here and now that if the numbers, when you get into office, don't add up, that it's the spending programs that go first?

EDWARDS: Yes...

WALLACE: But again, just to clear it up, I just want to make clear that you're saying that even Kerry's cherished health-care plan, he would cut that back before he would add to the deficit or raise taxes on the middle class?

EDWARDS: We will not raise taxes on the middle class, as John said clearly. And we will cut back -- we will cut back on our programs if it's necessary to make sure that that happens.

WALLACE: ...you attended just three of 36 meetings of the Judiciary Committee, the worst record of any member of that panel, and you attended just four of 13 public meetings of the Intelligence Committee.

For someone who's been in the Senate less than a full term, isn't that a problem?

EDWARDS: No, I'll tell you exactly what happened. I was in -- the first several years I was in the Senate, I had almost a perfect attendance record. And then I watched what was happening under this administration... but at that point, I came to the conclusion that the only real solution to this was to get George Bush out of the White House. And that's when I decided to run for president, and that's the period of time that they're talking about.

Anyone notice that they already realize they are making promises they know they can't keep, i.e. won't do something if have to raise taxes etc.

We won't see much of Edwards after Nov. 2. At about eight p.m., he and Nuancyboy will both become nonpersons. The only RATs worth talking to will be Hill and Bill, just the way she likes it.

Anyone who has seen the new jib-jab would never be able to take Edwards seriously again. Everytime I see his face now, I think of "buns". You have to see it to understand what I mean. I think I heard that they showed it on the Tonight Show. If so, millions of people saw it. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Both Kerry and Edwards have been AWOL from the Senate for more than a year. During that time the have attacked George Bush for every ill in the world.

During the same period, George Bush has led a country, fought a war on multiple battlefields, lead the economic recovery and run for reelection.

Kerry would be an absentee president in the same way he is an absentee senator.

Edwards would just be a mistake.

Ludicrous. "Hey, congress stinks! I don't like the way the game is played, so I'm going home....no, I'm running for president. So there. (Meanwhile, back in Chappaqua, Hill's putting champagne on ice. She'd never settle for the Supreme Court. One of nine? No way, not for Ms. Meglomaniac. Notice that she was pretty in pink again for her tv appearances the other night when GW took Kerry behind the barn and beat the living.....out of him.) And isn't it peculiar that the MSM still insists it was either a draw or that Kerry's ahead by a neck. Funny, because Terry McAuliffe and I were watching the same debate and he admitted Kerry had lost. Fox has that on tape.

It looks as if Chris Wallace didn't leave Edwards a figleaf to hide behind. Guess Chris didn't read the ABC memo.

Kerry's secret polling has to show he's already headed off that cliff and even the MSM can't save him. Kerry made a fool of himself in the debate when GW backed him into the corner and he gasped, 'Yes, I won't raise taxes...'. And he gasped it, too. GW had him by the throat. Which makes the MSM's lies of 'Kerry won, Kerry won', ridiculous.

MamaT. is used to Kerry's dancing attendance all the time --this is why he's never in the senate. She couldn't adjust to his having to actually be President of the US, and let's face it, after he left office, she'd still be his meal ticket. Kerry's entire life has been spent chasing money. Anyone who thinks he'd be totally involved in being President is crazy. Happily, we don't have to worry about that nightmare. Kerry's already trying to figure out how to stay on MamaT.'s payroll after Nov. 2.

I couldn't bear to watch Edwards today, on any of the Sunday shows, and I understand he was on every dang one of 'em.

Too bad you didn't watch at least Fox News Sunday. Chris Wallace put Edwards on a skewer, then roasted him.

It was a joy to watch.

Understand Mama T. is dropping the Kerry surname after the election. Anyone else heard this?

I love his answer to his poor attendence record: It's George Bush's fault.

He started to get a little smirk on his face when the "I've never met you remark" was being stated by Chris..and then it turned off immediately when he found out he wasn't being offered an opportunity to laugh the whole thing away.

He was looking for the hanging softball and he got a wicked curve...hmmm kinda looks like he "took his eye off the ball" don't you think?? :)

Great Job Chris!!!

"Gotta wonder what folks in his state think about that."

Folks in his state think he's a slime. This one does anyway.
Its doubtful he could have been re-elected, had he run.
Lets just say, he does not do this state proud.

We are 'umbly sorry.

Why hasn't anyone asked Kerry why he didn't resign his seat in the Senate to run for President. The Democrats shamed Bob Dole into resigning his seat when he ran for President against Clinton. Obviously neither Kerry or Edwards is representing their constituents.

"Tuesday November 2nd is election day; not the 3rd."

No no no, haven't you heard? Republicans vote on the 2nd. Democraps vote on the 3rd.
