What other job can you take, then after a year, go for a promotion and never do the job you were hired to do in the first place and still get paid for it.

EDWARDS: No, I'll tell you exactly what happened. I was in -- the first several years I was in the Senate, I had almost a perfect attendance record. And then I watched what was happening under this administration... but at that point, I came to the conclusion that the only real solution to this was to get George Bush out of the White House. And that's when I decided to run for president, and that's the period of time that they're talking about.So...his dismal attendance record is (drum roll, please)...Bush's fault. Why, of course! [Hits self in head.]

Kerry has a record for pushing for raising taxes.
So Edwards only looks like a fool when he claims that they would cut spending.
THE ONLY SPENDING THEY WOULD CUT WOULD BE NATIONAL SECURITY.
Last time I checked....welfare had not done squat to stop terrorists and other enemies of our country.
AS for Edwards pathetic way to spin his Senate NO SHOW record.....he looked like a bigger fool on that issue.

Both Kerry and Edwards have been AWOL from the Senate for more than a year. During that time the have attacked George Bush for every ill in the world.
During the same period, George Bush has led a country, fought a war on multiple battlefields, lead the economic recovery and run for reelection.
Kerry would be an absentee president in the same way he is an absentee senator.
Edwards would just be a mistake.

I love his answer to his poor attendence record: It's George Bush's fault.

Why hasn't anyone asked Kerry why he didn't resign his seat in the Senate to run for President. The Democrats shamed Bob Dole into resigning his seat when he ran for President against Clinton. Obviously neither Kerry or Edwards is representing their constituents.

No, he said he would give a middle class tax CUT, clearly.

So it's Bush's fault that he didn't attend those meetings. Pathetic.
He didn't say it, but more than likely, tax cuts and defense spending would be the first to go so they could spend more money on their entitlement programs.

I wish the president would make the point during a debate that when Kerry raises taxes on corporates, that the money eventually comes out of the pocket of the consumers. AKA the middle class.

Edwards admits mistake on WMDs
Published October 11, 2004
MIAMI (AP) -- Sen. John Edwards said it was a mistake to believe Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, as he paused a Midwest campaign swing to make the round of talk shows yesterday.
The Democratic vice presidential nominee defended his record and criticized President Bush in appearances on five programs, while Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry campaigned in southern Florida.
Mr. Edwards later stopped at a diner in West Allis, Wis., where he criticized Mr. Bush's handling of the economy and promised to create more jobs and support working women by improving health care and child care. "This is the first president in 70-plus years who didn't create jobs," the North Carolina senator said to about 40 working women.
Appearing on ABC's "This Week," Mr. Edwards was asked -- as Mr. Bush was in the presidential debate on Friday -- to name three mistakes during his time in office. He named two, saying it was a mistake to vote for Rod Paige as education secretary and to believe Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, Mr. Bush's primary rationale for invading that country.
