A wily GOP plan?
Caller-Times Letters to the Editor ^ | 10.12.04 | Carlos E. Hunnell

Posted on 10/12/2004 8:21:09 PM PDT by SwinneySwitch

Regarding the fake documents concerning President Bush's National Guard service, I can't help but wonder why the fake was so obvious, and why it was discovered so quickly?

My conclusion is not so far-fetched if you give it some thought. The Republicans, not the Democrats, produced the documents and had their people get them to CBS.

If the documents were immediately recognized as fakes by the network, nothing ventured, nothing gained. But if they slipped by the network bigwigs and were aired (as was the case) the Republicans could reveal them as "fakes" and only the Democrats would be blamed.

Keep in mind that the Republicans discovered they were not genuine (surprise, surprise) in just a matter of hours after the broadcast. I feel sorry for Dan Rather, but a rush to judgment, regardless of who created the documents, should have been the last thing a veteran newsman or network would do.

Yup. That Karl Rove is a genius. From his secret lair in Alaska at Project HAARP, Rove steers hurricanes to Florida and sets Mount St. Helens off. Next he'll award the World Series to Boston.

Carlos, you ignorant slut. Stick to the alien abduction theory, it is more credible.

Yep, the GOP got Burkett to do this for them by promising to pay all his therapy bills and to pay for his medication.

This guy's not fooled, though.

You reckon ol' Carlos E. Hunnell sitting on the beach down in Corpus Christi figured this out all by himself?

The problem with the whole theory is that if Republicans had given C-BS the memos, Dan Rather and C-BS would have rolled over on that informant in a heartbeat.
Weak argument.

The prescription drug bill was just a smokescreen, money laundering as it were. LOL.

Nope. Sitting in his mother's basement with her old 486 computer, busily perusing DU at the rate of 3 pages per day.

OTOH, it is remarkable that a DUmmy can write four paragraphs without using some combination of "f**king Nazi bigot racist selfish greedy fascist homophobe".

But wait a minute...maybe the Dems have a mole inside the Repub camp and persuaded them to produce the fake documents and then leak that they were fake so people would catch on that it was a dirty trick by the Repubs and get real mad at them...but then maybe there's really a mole inside the Dem camp who got them to produce the fake documents to make it look like the Repubs...I'm getting dizzy.....
