This isn't exactly good news, considering their last poll had W up by 5

I've said that Bush is not up by 5 in MI, my opinion, but it is close or even.

Also Kerry made an emergency visit to Michigan on Monday night.

Bush is at the Silverdome today and like the poster of this thread siad this rally should make a difference.

Michigan is not this close. This is just the Detroit News sending out smoke signals in the hope of attracting some advertising revenues for themselves and other Michigan media. Put this in the category of irrelevant noise.

massadvj ... I'd agree with you if it weren't for Bush heading there at this point. I've got to believe their internals show its winnable. Otherwise, why waste precious time that could be spent in Ohio and Florida? (I know ... it could be ineptitude, but I doubt it)

I agree with you. People have been telling us for weeks. Don't look at media polls but where the campaigns are spending money and time.

I think Michigan is a lot closer this time.

Also Tony Snow said that kerry has given up on FL.(Juan Williams agreed with him).

Another poster said Snow probably called up some TV stations in FL and they probably told him that kerry has pulled his ads.

I don't believe that Florida thing. Kerry is going to be there Thursday and Friday.

Hasn't Juan turned into a watercarrier lately? I know he's a Dem, but he's really been freaking out lately.

CNN, Juan Williams and even Security Mom Katie COuric are turning against Kerry. If you don't know already, Katie Couric has become the whipping girl at the DU becasue she dared to put away her cheerleading outfit and asked Kerry tough questions including accusing him of being a hypocrite with his camouflage outfit goose hunting in OH. Kerry was pissed and Couric: he he he he he in her little stupid voice.

Hopefully the marriage amendment will put Bush up over the top.

It's my contention that the liberal pollsters are not taking into account the marriage amendment. This will bring heavy turnout from conservative Christians, and while they're voting against gay marriage they will also pull the Bush lever.

The liberals are using the old 2000 numbers as the basis for their polls. In other states with the marriage amendment, the conservative Christian turn-out has increased by 3 to 6% over what pollsters expected.

My assessment has Kerry in big trouble in MI. Kerry will need a consistent big lead over Bush in the polls to win this state to make up for the increased Christian turn-out.

The other key is for MI is that outlying precincts NOT report their vote totals until after Detroit reports. Otherwise Detroit will simply manufactiure the votes for Kerry, even if it totals more 100% of all eligible voters.

...... also look at the Marriage Amendment numbers at the bottom. I am hoping that there will be a larger than expected turn-out for this ballot issue - and that Bush will see some extra percentage points, --- more than polsters predict...

Just imagine the impact the "gay marriage issue" would have had in Missouri had we been able to delay the vote until Tuesday! 71% of Missourians went for the Amendment recognizing male/female marriages only. Just hope these good folks show up on Tuesday and put GWB over the top...as well as Matt Blunt, Kinder, etc.
