The following is a really good article IMHO. But before you read the link, I would like my own little vanity moment ( I mean, its my first, so I deserve to blow a little wind) - Please excuse the formating- its late- :-)
Please forward it to anyone you think needs to hear it. Forget political games, forget popularity. Thats not what this is all about- Forget partisan hatred. I havent got any of that. I do have a cold place in my middle that wants to get the bad guys in the worst way ( and wouldnt blink), but not hatred for other voters.
I for one think that our country can change things for the better if we have the understanding of right and wrong, and the will to see it through
- Think of the hard times in your life when it would have been easier to quit than to go on. And then, think about the things you would have lost if you had quit. I don't normally give a flying fig about politicians, but I really have to say Bush will be my man this year. The guy has seen this country through lots of bad stuff that the previous administration led us into ( and larger issues too that have been around for years, like islamofacist terrorism)
- I for one trust him more than the media reports about him, because I've watched him speak and I have a great memory about what he says. The guy does what he says he's going to do. I don't think Kerrys evil. But I do think he's a moral weakling who is telling people what they want to hear, and that once in power, he'll allow those who are evil to have their way with our country because he craves popularity as opposed to doing the right thing.
Thats the bottom line for me.
All the negative stuff about Bush and Kerry in the media?
Don't care.
SPIN is SPIN.
Do I believe that Bush can do no wrong? Nope. Not at all. I don't agree with all his decisions or opinions.
At this stage in my life, I drink nobodys kool-aide.
It fundamentally comes down to believing that Bush stands up for his principals. Kerrys prinicipals are whatever the polls tell him they should be. Thats a sure road to slavery and manipulation.
Even if you're a Kerry fan , or don't like Bush all that much, please think about this.
When you go to cast that ballot on tuesday, vote for the right reasons. Not for the media spin. Not what the candidate is going to do for you personally.
Think a little more old school.
Like the Americans that fought for independance. Because it was the right thing to do.
And Saved Europe when they were being threatened. Because it was the right thing to do.
And rebuilt most of the world. Because it was the right thing to do.
And broke the back of communism Because it was the right thing to do. .
Like asking not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.
This election really is a biggie and requires everyone to do a gut check--- only a few days left-
Reach out. Stop fighting the Dem's. The ones that really back Kerry arent changing their minds and they need to be soundly thrashed at the polls. The ones that arent decided sure need to be inspired to greatness. Not frightnened into voting ( cause guess who wins the "scare the voters" contest? - It aint us folks.Theres too much honor on our team. If there isnt, there Damn well should be)
If you think these words will move a friend or anyone, please forward them.
My goal is to reach out and make people stop thinking with their heads( which can really get turned around with this much spin in the air) and more with their hearts and guts. BECAUSE ITS THE RIGHT THING TO DO Please check out the link also --- Lets win this one for our kids.
