Soldiers' ballots arriving from overseas in record numbers
October 29, 2004
Our troops serving in Iraq and elsewhere around the world are keeping local election officials busy. A record number of soldiers who call Bell and Coryell Counties home have voted.
Bell County Clerk Vada Sutton has received close to 5,000 ballots from our troops stationed in Iraq and other bases overseas.
I had more this year than I ever have, she says.
And they're still coming in. Bell County election officials continue to open ballots from our soldiers.
In Coryell County, where a portion of Fort Hood sits, 2,000 absentee ballots were requested by our troops. So far, 1,200 have come back. In Bell County, more than 7,000 ballots were requested and almost 5,000 have made it home.
According to law, ballots coming from overseas can be received up to five days after the election, so Bell County could receive close to 6,000 absentee ballots.
It's a great number, Sutton says. Usually, you don't get but about 50% of those back.
It won't be until after 7pm on Tuesday that the results are reported.

The military is well aware of how the Demorats attempted to "disenfranchise" the military the last time..
The Kerry lawyers will be very busy attempting the same, this time..
Kerry once again stabbing the military in the back, while they fight the enemies of this Republic..
Kerry and the Demorat party are lower than Whale Shit, and that's on the bottom of the ocean.

If anybody has a right to vote in this election it is the people serving in the military. The have the right to say who they want as there commander.
God Bless our Troops and G.W.BUsh

You know, I wonder just how much the military vote affected past elections (other than 2000) meaning did they actually get through and counted on time and not discarded for various reasons.
Could it be their vote will simply neutralize any voter fraud?
Because if it does, our military is protecting us in more ways than one.

Those words are memorable for me because I first heard them from a screaming DI when my feet hit the yellow footprints at San Diego.

This is Texas. We need an equivalent article for Florida. Military usually pick one of those two for their residences. Zero state income tax.
