The media will never concede publicly is that several factors play a key part in Kerry's defeat. 1)Republicans were able to get base voters to the polls in the late evening(which in the past favored Democrats) 2)People of faith voted for Bush 2-1 over Kerry(Hispanic Voters in the South, Midwest and Southernwestern State went for Bush) 3)Kerry did poorly among black voters with no less that 74-78% of the Black Vote(I think Bush doubled his 2000 numbers)4. The military voters turned out a record number of votes from bases in key battleground states and overseas ballots. 5) Bush won over a large segement of Hispanic Voters in Florida and New Mexico.
You're right. They probably also won't mention that the president received the highest number of votes ever cast, even beating Ronald Reagan's total.
One more issue that got out the vote in at least 11 states: The constitutional amendments banning same sex marriages.
When will we know what % of the black vote Bush got?

It will be a few weeks, but given W's strong showing in North Carolina, Florida, Mississippi and Alabama, black in the bible belt went for W in mass due to gey marriage.
I'm wondering if those 'exit' polls should be investigated...there was something really weird going on there, I think the media tried one last time to defeat Bush. Fox said those numbers were even given to them BEFORE they started reading the early morning results on the internet!!! Tell me the media wasn't trying something here!!

I think it usually takes at least a day or two to get those statistical analyses out. (I did hear that preliminary figures showed Bush got 43% of the Hispanic vote nationwide -- but that was based on exit polls, so who knows the real number?)
Working on that one right now.
I know of at least one black vote that Bush got. I'm married to her, so obviously my in-laws think I "brainwashed" her.
