Islamo-fascists could walk to the games. How convenient!

There can be no more suitably symbolic location for the synchronized swimming competition.

The IOC's 11-member evaluation commission, led Morocco's Nawal El Moutawakel, will visit Madrid on Feb. 3-6, London on Feb. 16-19, New York on Feb. 21-24, Paris on March 9-12 and Moscow on March 14-17.
The Frenchie might have it in the bag, since the person leading the evaluation committee will feel right at home with French Muslim-philia.

From GamesBids.com:

Centrebet Says Paris 2012 Is “Ahead Of The Pack”
Posted 12:17 pm ET (GamesBids.com)

Centrebet, Australia’s leading online sports bookmaker, agrees with GamesBids.com that Paris is the frontrunner in the race for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

Mark Worwood of Centrebet told GamesBids.com “your BidIndex rates it well ahead of the pack and so do I”.

Centebet has Paris winning the 2012 Games at 1-2, London second at 11-4, Madrid 5-1, New York 8-1 and Moscow 25-1.

GamesBids.com BidIndex, released last week, has Paris in first place, but it differs from Centrebet with Madrid squeaking ahead of London. New York and Moscow are also in fourth and fifth place on BidIndex.

Just damn.

If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...

Why any city wants the Olympics is beyond me. The games are terribly expensive, construction will last for years, traffic is horrific, and security is a nightmare. Half the seats at the events will stay empty and the taxpayers will be left with a huge bill. Let the Frogs have it; they deserve it!

British bookmaker Ladbrokes on Monday installed Paris as the 1-2 favorite to host its third Olympics after holding the games in 1900 and 1924. London, the 1908 and 1948 host, was at 3-1, with Madrid at 4-1, New York at 14-1 and Moscow, the 1980 host, at 33-1.

You mean people actually bet on which city will get the games? Wouldn't that be like betting on which golf course gets to host the US Open in 2010? Seems odd.
