She's going with Rathers final losing line of defense, the documents might be fake, but the story is true?

Mary Mapes, the poster child for Hillary in 08.
CBS will keep her on, I am willing to bet on it.
She will be portrayed as a courageous journalist, just doing her job.
Viacom will never admit to the American public what their agenda truly is.

These people will never get it.
Mapes should have been axed the week the scandal broke.

Mary Mapes is as relevant to the world of factual news as the checkout clerk at my local grocery.
Ditto for Mr. Rather and Mr. Heyward. And Viacom, for that matter.,

She spent five years chasing the story. What was the purpose? It was to do damage to the president and help the DemocRAT. It was agenda-driven journalism. She should be out on her butt. Why didn't she report on John Kerry in Paris negotiating with the commies? What about his phony reports for purple hearts? What about the frauds at the Winter Soldier hearings? She did none of those.

Flashback
Father Says CBS 'Rathergate' Producer Mapes Had An Ax to Grind
But Mapes' father sees a political agenda behind his daughter's work. Don Mapes, 76, was a recent guest on a radio talk show hosted by John Carlson on KVI in Seattle.
He said, "I'm really ashamed of what my daughter has become. She's a typical liberal. She went into journalism with an ax to grind, and that was to promote radical feminism."

I could be wrong but in my mind this woman is more guilty than Dan. She's the one that put it all together and presented it to Dan and he was the idiot that bought it. His own Ego and Hate for Bush did him in. She has to go no matter what.
To: kattracks
How is it that she's still drawing a check from CBS in the first place?

Mapes wrote up a 68-page statement in her own defense
No doubt on company time using CBS resources.
Mapes, even more than Rather, must go. If not, CBS has zero integrity and believability.
