So now, a flat tire that previously would have only cost me the time to change my tire and the cost of a patch kit, is now going to cost me $75 minimum, plus mileage, plus the patch kit.

Heck, It might be cheaper to simply slow down, and run on the flat till I could get to the next exit. I bet that will help the congestion a lot.

You'll do that "run on the rim" about once ~ do you know what a new wheel costs?

Try http://www.thewheelexchange.com/ for European imports and http://www.discountpartcenter.com/ for everything else.

$75 looks like a bargain, eh?!

I am from Houston and I am glad they are doing this. The tow companies are like vultures and they will have these cars out of the way in less than 5 minutes. I think it will be great for traffic flow and will help things out. I know $75 is pretty steep but there are a lot of other people to consider than the one whose car is on the side of the road.

It make you think twice about running your car on empty or riding in a car that should not be on the road. As for flat tires, carry some fix a flat in your car, hurry up and get out fill it up and your off.
