I don't want to get flamed by my comments but just want to pose a thought. In the Bible, God destroyed entire nations that were pagan by natural disasters. These countries for the most part are pagan...worship multiple Gods, don't worship the God of the Bible, could this still be the case?

I'd like to think that was Old Covenant stuff.

As a Bible believing Christian, I would say you are trying to troll...

Back in the day natural disasters happened and pagans died. But when God struck, a Prophet is first sent to warn and get people to repent. Was this the case?

Well, I did see two posts yesterday where one was about Indonesia not letting the minority Christian population have Christmas celebrations and the second was about Christian churches being destroyed or burnt down in Indonesia. Most of the countries affected are largely muslim population or all muslim.

Maybe it is the Rapture and you are left behind. : )

It is sobering to see all those villages and nobody is there.

There were thousands of Christians killed in this disaster. The Christian population of India is concentrated on the coasts because of the Portuguese, French, Danish, etc. trading posts.

In one church alone upwards of 1,000 Christian pilgrims were killed by the wave in India.

And would you have God strain at gnats, while swallowing a camel?

Talkshows are taking lame call-in comments these days. But, put the same lame comment in writing for a 100 million websurfers to read anytime in the next 100 years makes such lame comments the subject of academic studies by sociologists.

It is dangerous to go around declaring the will of God as evident in these tragic events. It just doesn't get "us Christians" very far, if you know what I mean.

Such declarations tend to impeach the character of God while alluding that we have some special knowledge of God acting on "our" behalf by slaughtering other humans.

Speculating this was God's punishing will, based on coincident events without any prophetic knowledge that this was indeed God, and not simply a natural disaster, would achieve what?

Wouldn't such logic prove that 9/11 was "God" talking to us and rewarding the Muslims fanatics? Seems like a dangerous path for a Christian to tread.

Read Christs words in Mathew 23 I believe. That will help you and anyone else out.
