The Talented Senator Boxer (vanity)
01/26/05 | Embraer2004

"If her colleagues were moved by Boxer's emotional appeal, it was not evident. As Boxer spoke, the floor was empty of all lawmakers but Allen, who was playing with his BlackBerry. In the end, even Boxer had to acknowledge that Rice "will be confirmed."

This is a quote from Yahoo, running a story from the Washington Post. Barbara Boxer gave her speech to an empty hall, talking to herself and illustrating that she was doing her job of advise and consent. The liberal Senator from California has made a career of taking ridiculous stands, such a Anita Hill's discredited attacks on Clarence Thomas or the debate against Bob Packwood. Although Senator Boxer is correct in saying that the Constitution says that the Senate should advise and consent, not "confirm", the Constitution does not say that the Senate should "obstruct" either. Boxer is clearly the voice of the Democratic Party and this is making Hillary furious because her efforts to move to the right will go down in flames due to Boxer's antics. Boxer will force Hillary to take unpopular stands and her charade (Hillary's) to become conservative will fall to pieces. Boxer also makes John Kerry insignificant since by standing with her against Dr. Rice, Kerry looks petty, bitter, and sour grapes; thus, his run in 2008 is history and he does not even know it. And Howard Dean is applauding mightily because Boxer's rise as the voice of the Democratic Party virtually guarantees his ascesion into the DNC Chair. What great news. Senator Boxer is truly talented...she is the only one who can accomplish Hillary's downfall, Kerry's implosion and Dean's coronation as DNC Chief. We owe her "big time"

If you have no link and just want to rant, then you should put VANITY in the title.

gee, if all the TV coverage had shown the hall as she spoke, it would have been a proper piece of information to include...they would not have to comment upon it, but they SHOULD include that piece of information...

thanks for the heads-up.

I was forced to watchful the awful 'Today Show' this morning because my wife watches it and the report on Rice was horrible. All it basically showed was whining liberal Senator after another calling Rice a liar. NBC never once probed or posed the question, "What did she lie about?" Andrea Mitchell looked like she was going to pee her pants because she was so happy. I'm convinced she's somehow related to Barbara Walters.

These idiots in the liberal media still don't get it. And they act like the Democrats run Washington. Pathetic losers.

"Boxer is clearly the voice of the Democratic Party and this is making Hillary furious because her efforts to move to the right will go down in flames due to Boxer's antics."

I doubt that Boxer is making Hillary furious at all! I suspect she's doing EXACTLY what Hillary has instructed her to do. Boxer was just re-elected for 6 years and can say anything without worrying...that's why she can be the voice for Hillary, while Hillary makes her move to the center. And it makes Hillary look even better to more moderate democrats. And don't forget, Boxer's daughter was married to Hillary's brother (Hughie?); I can't remember if they have a child together or not.

Naahh...Boxer's just falling in step with the Clintons.

I saw the clip of Boxer during her speech, which ran during Scarborough Country last night, and NOW she's sporting a James Traficant hairdo. I kid you NOT. Take a gander.

As long as Boxer and others continue their over the top hyper-Democratic hysterics, Evita has to move further to the right to even get a word in, unless she wants to be lumped in with the looney losers herself. She doesn't. She wants desperately to be considered seriously for the WH in the next go. It will be hilarious to watch Evita jump in and out of her own rectum between now and election day doing whatever she needs to do, saying whatever she needs to say to get and stay 'viable' (so far as any Democrat can be regarded as viable by anyone). Be prepared for a regular Barnum and Bailey show from her and that half-wit she still passes off as her husband.

With the Pubbies standing by and allowing the Dembos to rant on like they do, obstructing any-n-everything this President tries to do, including stonewalling on his cabinet and judicial nominees...I'd say it's a pretty good bet the Democrats ARE running Washington. It's time we all woke up, smelled the coffee, and accepted the reality that the Pubbies, by their silence (and lack of demonstrated backbone), continues to allow the Dems to retain control of the body politic/the agenda, etc. Like Rush said a long time ago, they (the Pubbies) don't know HOW to act like the majority party...they are impotent and have demonstrated virtually nothing to the contrary.

If Hilary really wanted to look "more conservative," she'd come out and issue a press release saying, "The Senate has performed its role in the nomination process. President Bush has put forth nominees; it's time to reach across the aisle, stop blocking votes in Committee, and vote for each one in view of the full Senate. Let's be honest: my party is not in the Executive Office, nor do we have a majority in Congress. It's time to move on to the business of the people, and place the President's nominees in office. This goes for any judicial nominees as well."
