Even though crime is down in NYC, one must still be cautious out at 3 AM. What a senseless tragedy...

"the corner of Clinton and Rivington streets"
A very bad neighborhood, yet stupid yuppies still try and party there. I grew up on the east side of Manhattan and people's willingness to travel on the lower east side in the dead of night has always baffled me.

They dissed the thugs. Thug had to demonstrate he had a gun in order to keep his thug "honor" intact. Find the killer and send him to old sparky.

Aren't guns outlawed in New York City?

Senseless.
Sometimes it's wise to keep that "Brooklyn attitude" in check. Just give them the money.

Yes it is senseless but I guess such a left winger as she is just couldn't believe that anyone could be that mean.

Sad she had to die like this. Looking at her site, she was a flaming leftie. I'm convinced that we are going to hear cries and howls for more gun control from Hollyweird now.

"What are you going to do, shoot us?" According to Marc MacYoung (or one of those guys) that is very common. Words are exchanged, a weapon is displayed, and somebody uses the you dont have the balls line, or some permutation.
He said of the gunman, "It looked like it's probably the first robbery he'd ever done. He wasn't good at it."
I think I disagree with that assessment. I base that on the fact that he ended up with what he wanted and got away. At least for now. Leaving the primary scene is step one.
Granted youd probably want to keep a lower profile and not kill a lot of people if you want to spend the maximum amount of time out of jail. But even if they were teens, theres a lot of teens that have been robbing and killing four or five years at that point. It is very much their profession.

A teenage boy I know was mugged at gunpoint on his way home from the movies. This was a Northern Virginia suburb.
He gave the guy his whole wallet (without any lip) and then ran. He lived to tell me about it.
