I hate to say it but when they don't identify the race of the killers it usually means they are black ... so is this a "hate" crime?

1) They'll get ratted out by their "homies" for a reward, 2) they'll have trials which will drag on for a couple of years, 3)they'll get a slap on the wrist and probation, 4) within a decade most of them will be dead from drugs or violence, 5) any survivors will be in prison for other violent offenses.

You are correct about everything except point 3. If he had shot another black male he would have received a cursory sentence. Murdering a young, white, attractive, liberal female in cold blood, leaving her to die in the arms of her fiance, means that this youth will leave prison a gray-haired old man.

This is a sad, tragic but interesting story as it perfectly highlights the delusions and naivety harbored by young white liberals. To them Bush and Christians are the enemy and it seems so inconceivable that they could fall victim to violent crime perpetrated by the very people they claim to champion --the poor, downtrodden people of color! People who owned guns for defense and try to avoid stumbling drunkenly through the 'hood at 3:00am are close minded bigots and rubes in their world view.

It is sad that this young woman was murdered but I have a feeling this story is going to have a long shelf life and force many young white liberals who reside in urban areas to maybe take a different look at things.

I think "hate crimes" are BS but I don't think this qualifies as a liberally defiened hate crime. She was not murdered because she was white. She was murdered because she "dissed" the young thug in front of his homies. In gangland this is an unpardonable offense.

And now because this thug needed to be "respected" and "represent" he will spend his entire adulthood incarcerated in prison.

Well, you've been very sheltered in your travels, then. That may have been true in 1960, but with the destruction of many black families by welfare and drugs, beginning in the 1970's, a whole new subculture began. There are women selling their five year old daughters for crack cocaine. This started years ago. Those children are grown now, and have had children. Many of these children have never been exposed to anything other than drugs, prostitution and gang wars. I've seen them six and seven years old, roaming the streets at three and four in the morning. Nobody raises them, and nobody cares where they are, what they're doing, or who they're doing it with. These are the kids that sat in dirty diapers while their mothers shot up and turned tricks in the same room with them.

I am not saying that the thug is a minister, but I have yet to see a black child raised an atheist. Go to any black first grader and I bet that you will get 100% of them who can tell you how much they love Jesus.
