TALLAHASSEE, Florida (CNN) -- Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said on Sunday there is nothing else he can do to save Terri Schiavo's life. "I cannot violate a court order," Bush said after attending Easter Sunday church services. "I don't have powers from the United States Constitution or -- for that matter from the Florida Constitution -- that would allow me to intervene after a decision has been made."

LOAD OF CRAP ALERT. You're finished Jeb. Period.
With a whimper, the black-robed oligarchy has consolidated their hold. These judicial tyrants now hold supreme power in our Nation.
God save the USA!
No one is ever compelled to obey an illegal order.
No one.
No authority grants Judge Greer the power to order a woman starved to death.
Governor Jeb Bush cannot wash his hands of this. He is forever damaged goods, having chosen to make the executive supine to even the lowliest member of the judiciary.
Amen. And God save Terri Schiavo.
where do the people turn for redress from injustice when all legal avenues are shut to them?
Hey Jeb: "Whatever"
Two years ago complaints were made demonstrating criminal abuse and gross neglect. You didn't have any rogue judges stopping you with his storm troopers then.
Florida has become an elderly and disabled kill zone.
Judgenfuhrer Greer: "We micturate on the US Congress, its stupid useless subpoenas,
the President and the Governor. Bow and service us --- or die by starvation. "
"I cannot violate a court order," Bush said
------
That tells you all you need to know. Blue-blood, old money, establishment folk don't rock the boat.
Unless you yourself got arrested trying to take Terri a glass of water, you are not in a very good position to criticize Bush for honoring the order. The only thing that is going to stop this is mass civil disobedience.
bs
What is there left for him to do?
Can he still send in state troopers, agents, etc? I thought he had tried everything.
Only in America.
Unbelievable!
If he ordered the state police to "go get her" the judge would hold him in contempt and order the state to turn her back over to the Husband and they would have to because the Florida SC already ruled in favor of the Husband in this matter.
The only way for Florida to save her is if the house/senate made a new law which they triad but failed to do.
Actually he cannot do that, unless everyone else acquiesces.
I think this is what Hannity meant when he said freerepublic has been taken over by extremists. I'm as upset about this situation as anybody.
But to blame the Bushes is to give support to the true enemies.
yongliu: welcome!
oh, and of course this begs the question: when all legal avenues of redress of wrongs are closed, what are the people to do to secure justice?

This was an excellent post of an Ann Coulter commentary on executive power and this situation.
