I agree on that (And would like to see Sanford or Pawlenty push on this)

But I'll back a bad messenger over a wrong message. I voted for Keyes in 2000 primary(although I had a higher respect for him then than I do now after his carpetbagging to Illinois).

It all depends on who runs. Some I can't vote for under any circumstance whatsoever.(McCain, Rudy, Pataki)

I like the speech, and what he says, I just wish he could focus more on what he's saying.

Long story short, I like him, I just think he could do a better job explaining the issue of immigration with a better writer.

He does tend to bounce a bit.

Here is a link to Morris Day and the Time. We're talking retro '80s music.

Yes, I agree that a Tancredo/Buchanan or a Buchanan/Tancredo team is a winning team.

They're both true-and-tried patriotic conservatives that, I'm sure, could put an end to the open floodgates and to the American invasion by hordes of 3rd world illegal/legal aliens.

Tancredo is nothing but a puppet for Pat Buchanan and his isolationist dream of a walled in America that allows no one in. He is more interested in being told he is next to God and getting money for his PAC than actually doing something about the border. Perhaps if he wasn't a self serving megalomaniac who only cares about having his ego stroked by his small but loud group of followers something could actually be done about the borders and immigration. However, he and his few cronies are just enough to scuttle any solutions. The Democrats won't vote for anything the Republicans sponsor and Tancredo and his ilk won't support it unless it is his idea alone. In other words, nothing will change on the border. Nothing will be done to try and find a solution to the current problem. Then Tancredo will get up and lie his butt of and claim he alone can solve the problem when in fact he is the biggest obstacle to any rational solutions.

"Oh Tom, you're the only man who can save the United States."

"Tom darling, we bow at your all knowing feet. Please all knowing one run in 2008. Either win the Republican nomination or make sure the evil Republican's don't win the White House."

Running Tancredo will do three things. He will ensure Hillary Clinton becomes the next President. He will ensure that Congress and the White House are controlled by Democrats for the next 40 years, and he will ensure that just like blacks, Latinos vote Democrats by 90% or more.

If Tancredo was truly serious about immigration and the border, he would work with the President and other members in Congress to find a solution all sides could agree on. Other than the Democrats, no one is proposing "amnesty" like the Bush hating Tancredo lovers like to throw out. The President's suggestions and Tancredo's aren't that dissimilar but Tancredo's ego is not going to allow him to play second chair to the President. Unless he is able to stand up and claim "I solved the illegal immigration problem" he would rather see nothing be done. This way he can stand up and whine some more and ask for donations.

Agree. My vote will be for the most conservative candidate in the primary. My vote in the general election will be for the GOP nominee given that the alternative will be the Hildabeast or worse.

No flames from me, pardner. He seems solid enough to me. I'm a little disappointed about that gun show business, though.

I wouldn't worry too much about some of the enthusiasm he might get from some of the groups that have come up. The MSM tried to slime Bush over the Prescott Bush banking thing as well, and it was a flash in the pan.

"La Raza"

La Raza is a racist organization and they make no bones about it. La Raza means The Race.

And after LA elects a LA Razan as their new mayor.. The LA City Hall will be La Raza Pueblo.

Woohooo! Yeeppee! YESSSS!!!

Tancredo will become the GOP presidential candidate in 2008 by receiving only 3% of the GOP votes in the primaries and then he will become President by receiving a record breaking 2% of the total vote.

I cannot hold my excitement for such great news! I wish I can post these green jumping frogs that you see at Dummieland.

End of sarcasm.

ROFLOL!!!!!!!!!! Buchanan isn't a Republican and burned so many bridges and continues to burn them that Tancredo wouldn't touch Buchanan with a 100 foot pole.

Cool. He's got my vote. Maybe he'll run on the Constitution Party ticket.

In other words, you want Tancredo to be Hillary's Perot and see her in the White House come January 2009. How sweet.

We need another Reagan, not a Goldwater, in order to win

Reagan wasn't for a new Berlin wall on the southern border.

Allow free movement of people from Mexico & Canada Reagan himself was a dreamer, capable of imagining a world without trade barriers. In announcing his presidential candidacy in Nov. 1979, he had proposed a “North American accord” in which commerce & people would move freely across the borders of Canada & Mexico. This idea, largely overlooked or dismissed as a campaign gimmick in the US, rankled nationalist sensibilities in the neighboring nations. But Reagan was serious in his proposal. Though he traveled only once outside the North American continent during his first 57 years, he was neither insular nor isolationist. California has windows to the world in Asia, and Reagan thought of the US as a Pacific power as well as an Atlantic one. He also had a Californian’s consciousness of Mexico and an actor’s appreciation of Canadians, who are well-represented in the film community. The dream of a North American accord would drive the successful pursuit of a US-Canadian free trade agreement and a future-oriented “framework” trade agreement with Mexico Source: The Role of a Lifetime, by Lou Cannon, p. 461 Jul 2, 1991

I'll take Keys any time, despite the recent Illinois debacle. He's a Christian conservative (ie, a paleocon) with strong morals and family values. But I don't think he can win. Maybe a Tancredo/Keys team?

Oh, Keys is also a strong advocate of closing our pourous borders to 3rd world illegal aliens, I think.
