An east side homeowner confronts burglars with gun in hand, for the second time in four days!
George Shandy grew up in the home on Dawson, and still takes care of it. That's what he was doing on Saturday, when he shot a burglar in the arm. That suspect was arrested.
When Shandy went to the home Tuesday, he noticed the front door was open, and someone had stolen a China hutch. The burglars had left a washer and dryer, as well as a refrigerator, in the center of the living room. Shandy had a hunch the crooks would be back, so he sat and waited for them with his 9mm handgun.
"Because I knew they were coming back for the rest of the stuff so that's why I did what I had to do; I just waited on them," says Shandy.
Sure enough, the two suspects showed up.

Im surprised the liberals are accusing him of lying in wait..
Sorry-arent accusing..
I thought about that too, but he didn't shoot them. More importantly, they came into his house and didn't belong there. Even the most liberal DA couldn't do a thing to him.
Good.
You don't live in the Northeast do you?
Chalk another one up for the good guys.
Odd story.
Stealing washers, dryers and refrigerators is generally too much work for burglars.
San Antonio, TX
After the Schiavo murder, I dont believe there isnt a low an officer of the court wont approach. Not all of them, of course, but enough of them to treat them all with suspicion. Those honest Officers among you now need to step up and prove me wrong. But after Schiavo, that will be difficult..
And, the first poster didn't leave out the last three paragraphs of the story.
An acquaintance of mine went to check on his mothers house in Elizabeth, NJ as it had been vacant for several weeks after she had been recently hospitalized. He did a walk-through and everything looked fine.
Thought to wash his hands before he left, turned on the faucet and no water. Went to check the shut off valve and it was missing - and so was every piece of copper pipe in the house.
Nothing else of significant value was in the house because they had taken all of her jewelery as a precaution earlier. Strange.
Curious. I don't know of any way to remove all the copper pipe from a home without causing a great deal of damage to walls, etc.
You'd think that people willing to work that hard could find honest work that would be at least as remunerative.
Unoccuppied house, so they proably thought they had plenty of time, and the second "burgler" may have just been a prospective purchaser. Still, second hand washers and driers are pretty cheap in San Antonio. I've bought two dryers and a washer. Second dryer works great, although the first worked well for over 4 years, the washer is still going strong after 6 years. I bought 'em from a guy, with a storefront place of business, named Jesus, although he preffered "Jessie", as is common with native Tejanos.
Kind of like the story of the guy that worked weeks painting/forging a $1 bill...
You need to remember, libs don't play fair.
A malicious prosecution, with no hope of conviction just to cost the homeowner tens of thousands for bail and attorneys is common. A favorite is to require the police to search the property and confiscate all weapons for evidence and then announce that fact in the news, release the burglars on OR, and give them immunity for testimony against the homeowner.
You're right. I forgot that liberals go nuts (okay...nuttier) when a law-abiding citizen tries to protect himself and his property.
