BERKELEY, Calif. - A mental health counselor allegedly involved in the throat slashing of a 75-year-old woman is being sought on an accessory to attempted murder charge, police said.
Hamaseh Kianfar, 30, of San Rafael, is on paid administrative leave from a part-time job at the guidance center at San Leandro's juvenile hall. She apparently did not call police to report the attack allegedly committed by a 16-year-old Oakland girl, authorities said.
Berkeley police said Kianfar had not been arrested by Wednesday afternoon.
The attack took place at dusk March 16, when two females approached the victim as she and her husband were walking near the Berkeley Rose Garden.
When the couple tried to pass the women, the 16-year-old allegedly slashed the elderly woman's throat with a kitchen knife. The attacker then reportedly fled the scene with a companion.
Prosecutors say Kianfar initially told police she witnessed the knife attack but later gave a second statement revising that account.
The 16-year-old suspect is being held on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. The results of a mental evaluation are to be submitted to a juvenile court judge in Oakland next week.
According to court records, the girl had previously violated a child-dependency court order and been on probation for an undisclosed offense.
What are they saying, that the 30 year old mental health counselor (?) was the "companion" of the throat slasher? And, any news on the throat slasher, is she a Muslim too?
From the International Association of Sufism's website:
The principles of Sufism are all based upon the rules and teachings of the Koran and the instructions of the Prophet.
from Globalsecurity.org
Sufis are "movements", within, and in a few extreme cases outside of mainstream Islam. Sufis in general, are complex, and cover many different "stripes" of Islam. Sufism started out as a Shia movement, but over the past several hundred years, has almost disappeared from Shia Islam, and is now, mainly a Sunni movement. Hanbalis, Shafis, Malikis and Hanafis can all belong to different Sufi "tariqas" or "brotherhoods, as they are called. In fact, the Islamic brotherhood in Egypt, and Al Qaeda, are both Sufi based movements.
The Traditional Sufis, are actually people like the Wahhabiyyah and Al Qaeda, who eschew that type of thing as apostasy, and instead, insist that Sufism is all an Internal (internal to an individual) movement/spiritualism, that should never adopt external/folkloric elements, like the Dervishes, etc.
Here's what I think-- the 16 y.o. slasher was receiving 'mental counseling' (guffaw!) from this Kianfar woman. After the incident occurred, Kianfar tries to cover for the kid. The reason why, if it's due to some 'muslims stick together' crap, will never be reported by the LSM.
>The Traditional Sufis, are actually people like the Wahhabiyyah and Al Qaeda.<
That's plain wrong. Sufism is Islam's Zen equivalent and are about as far from fundamentalist zealotry as you can get. Their tradtion is liberal (in the classic sense) and mystical.
"...Kianfar tries to cover for the kid."
If that is the case, which you are right it sounds like, isn't accessory to murder a pretty stiff charge?
Sure, but what about all those virgins?
Oh, wait, this is a chick we're talking about.
Well, then again, this IS Berkeley...
Sounds like the RoPers are loose on Northside!
The Berkeley Rose Garden is in a nice neighborhood that has nothing to offer but a lot of rich, unarmed white people. It is not on the way to anywhere, and you have to hike up a hill to get there.
These RoPers were not out for a springtime stroll. They were hunting...
Hate-crime charges?

This has gotten no play in ANY major media outlet.
Islam needs to lose its status as a religion and be eradicated from the World by any means neccessary.
That figures. Liberals are hypocrites and this needs attention.
