Hillary Stands by Indicted Aide

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton is making a public point of standing by her indicted campaign aide David Rosen, who served as finance chairman for her 2000 Senate race.

"David Rosen worked hard for the campaign and we trust that when all the facts are in, he will be cleared," Mrs. Clinton's scandal lawyer, David Kendall said, in a statement released yesterday. "The Senate campaign committee has fully cooperated with the investigation." The top Democrat came to Rosen's defense the same day prosecutors revealed that Sen. Ted Kennedy's Brother-in-law, Ray Reggie, secretly taped Rosen on several occasions making "incriminating statements."

Reggie, who was cooperating with investigators as part of his plea bargain on bank fraud charges, wore a wire for three years as he arranged fundraisers for top Democrats, including the Clintons.

Party insiders were thought to be most concerned about Reggie's June 2000 overnight visit to the White House, where he reportedly stayed up late into the night "chatting" with the former first couple.

The New York Post reported Saturday that Reggie never taped Mr. or Mrs. Clinton, though he had ample opportunity to do so, with the paper citing unnamed sources for the assertion.

The claim doesn't comport with the account of another key witness in the case, Hollywood celebrity fundraiser Aaron Tonken, who said the same FBI agent who wired Mr. Reggie - David Smith - asked him to tape Hillary Clinton's phone calls.

Tonken spent copious amounts of time with the Clintons, helping to arrange an Aug. 2000 fundraiser with Mr. Rosen and visiting the White House seven times during the last three months of the Clinton administration.

Tonken agreed to the taping, but by then team Clinton learned he was talking to the FBI and refused to take his calls.

sKerry announced Edwards was his running mate on Monday, June 28, 2004. When I heard the news that morning I was completely shocked. EVERYTHING was pointing to Gephardt, in fact many of the big news outlets later reported that they had been "informally briefed" by senior sKerry people that it would be Gephardt. Nobody in the media was expecting Edwards.

Edwards was a first term senator with zero foreign policy experience, he had no government experience at all before being elected to the Senate. In contrast, Gephardt had been the Democrat House leader for years, he has extensive foreign policy experience, budget experience and is well-respected by Republicans. Gephardt has been as supportive as any Democrat in the War on Terrorism, he voted for the Iraq invasion and remained supportive afterwards. What sKerry got with the Breck Girl was someone as liberal as him with just as much "baggage." sKerry would later complain that a lot of the time he and his staff didn't even know where Edwards was, which makes sense because Edwards only campaign experience had been one senate race and a failed run for the DNC nomination. Edwards had exactly one speech (about his father the "mill worker") and it wasn't even true.

I never understood what a Commerce Secretary was doing going to Eastern Europe (in a war zone no less) with virtually no entourage. And he had made it very clear that when he gave his upcoming testimony to the grand jury he was actually going to tell the truth, he said he was not going down just to support Bubba and the Beast.

On the plane were big time business execs who paid lots of money to get aboard. Everything was for sale by the Clintons.

But none of them wound up with bullets in their brains, then again they weren't facing grand jury indictments either.

I wonder how did Ted Kennedy's brother-in-law end up taping conversations for the FBI and not have the entire democrat party know about it? After all, if I'm to believe some of the stories that have been reported about the Kennedy Clans great propensity and fondness for rot gut and demon whiskey, doesn't imbibing too much generally loosen lips?

Maybe, Kennedy is telling him that HE (Kennedy KNOWS) that some stuff will be coming out to ruin Hillbilly and is telling Kerry to plan on being the candidate again!

With respect, that's kind of going into warp speed imagination. With all the attempts of the MSM to cover for him, and with the largest presidential 'war chest' in American history, Lurch still lost. He's a loser, and there's no reason for Kennedy to back him again, because he's not enough competition for even a scandal-tainted Hillary.

That's how the Clintoons have stayed out of jail in the past.

I know, all I am doing is "thinking out loud" with everyone!

Besides, when I said that, I was writing about his getting on to Mark Dayton about endorsing his opponent!

If Kerry STILL feels he has a chance, someone has to be feeding that ego, after what everyone else saw on 11-4, but Kerry obviously doesn't think it is over for him. So who would you think, but Kennedy since A-Kennedy backed Kerry the first time and B-Kennedy can't stand Hillary..

Sure my imagination might be working overtime, but so what, like I said I am just hypothesizing with friends. You can join us, it is fun and there is nothing else going on right now! LOL

Edwards was a first term senator with zero foreign policy experience, he had no government experience at all before being elected to the Senate.

Edwards is a North Carolinian southerner with a personal family story to invoke anyone's sympathy. He's also boyish-looking, handsome, and an effusive extrovert, which is the exact opposite of Lurch, who's charisma level is somewhere in the high negative numbers.

Of course what the MSM could be trusted not to tell was that Edwards had been an ambulance chasing lawyer who early-on became a millionaire by emotionally convincing a jury into awarding a huge settlement in a very questionable lawsuit against a NC ob-gyn. Between that contingency law suit pay-off and others for him, the result was that malpractice insurance rates for ob-gyns in NC soared and many had to shut down or move to another state, costing countless women in NC the service of good ob-gyns, but that's beside the point. After all, Clinton was a corrupt Southern governor and appointed the worst of political cronies to high state medical positions, and he got away with it because all that was unreported also by MSM.

The Democrats were running a ultra liberal Massachusettan who looked Lurch but without his charm, and they hoped stupid southerners might fall for Breck Boy's drawl and his well publicized Protestant church affiliation. They hoped he could carry some crucially needed southern states. They were so out of touch with reality, though, because Breck Boy not only couldn't carry his own state, he couldn't even carry his own precinct.

Edwards was picked because a bunch of moron northern Democrats thought that 'My Little Pony' could offset Kerry's cadaver appearance and lure Southern voters.

What they forgot to take into the account was the fact that the Breck Girl was only seeking the 'Rat nomination because he realized that he had no chance of being re-elected in NC. Usually, a candidate picks a running mate who can at least deliver their own state.

Speaking of imagination---

Didn't the 9/11 Commission tell the president and congress that the intelligence people needed to use more imagination?

Just think of us as "freeper intelligence officers"!!! LOL

I agree. Gephardt has never struck me as a "mean" liberal, or a nasty. partisan big mouth. More of an odl-fashioned Zell Miller style Democrat. The selection of Edwards as a running mate shows poor judge-ah-ment on the part of Kerry.

Gephardt and Lieberman were the only candidates seeking the nomination who put the nation's security above politics, and the left destroyed them for it.

If that guy wore a wire for three years, he has got to have something incriminating on Hillbilly....

So the inference is that she will be forced to not run in 2008? If so, wrong. These Klintoons will muck up America until the day that they die. Nothing will come of this or ANYTHING that these felons from Arkansas do. They are insulated by the real people that run the world & thus America.
