New York Sen. Hillary Clinton is making a public point of standing by her indicted campaign aide David Rosen, who served as finance chairman for her 2000 Senate race.
"David Rosen worked hard for the campaign and we trust that when all the facts are in, he will be cleared," Mrs. Clinton's scandal lawyer, David Kendall said, in a statement released yesterday. "The Senate campaign committee has fully cooperated with the investigation." The top Democrat came to Rosen's defense the same day prosecutors revealed that Sen. Ted Kennedy's Brother-in-law, Ray Reggie, secretly taped Rosen on several occasions making "incriminating statements."
Reggie, who was cooperating with investigators as part of his plea bargain on bank fraud charges, wore a wire for three years as he arranged fundraisers for top Democrats, including the Clintons.
Party insiders were thought to be most concerned about Reggie's June 2000 overnight visit to the White House, where he reportedly stayed up late into the night "chatting" with the former first couple.
The New York Post reported Saturday that Reggie never taped Mr. or Mrs. Clinton, though he had ample opportunity to do so, with the paper citing unnamed sources for the assertion.
The claim doesn't comport with the account of another key witness in the case, Hollywood celebrity fundraiser Aaron Tonken, who said the same FBI agent who wired Mr. Reggie - David Smith - asked him to tape Hillary Clinton's phone calls.
Tonken spent copious amounts of time with the Clintons, helping to arrange an Aug. 2000 fundraiser with Mr. Rosen and visiting the White House seven times during the last three months of the Clinton administration.
Tonken agreed to the taping, but by then team Clinton learned he was talking to the FBI and refused to take his calls.

Off the subject, but when you brought up Gephardt it reminded me---
In Jan. my mother died and about a month ago, I was at her house going through pictures and mementos and stuff--
Anyway, I found a piece of construction paper that had a newspaper article cut out and glued to it--it was an article about Dick Gephardt and a thank you letter to me from him congratulating him on an election--- I was in the 3rd grade!!!!
But, the weird part is, I was in school in Boulder, Colorado, not his state!
You mean like the Soros' of the world?
Reggie, who was cooperating with investigators as part of his plea bargain on bank fraud charges, wore a wire for three years as he arranged fundraisers for top Democrats, including the Clintons.
The fascinating thing is that Reggie had been wearing a wire for 3 years arranging fund raisers for TOP Democrats, and he's Teddy's brother-in-law. I wonder who else besides Hillary's man will be indicted? With 3 years worth of taping Democrat fundraising arrangements, surely it was pure coincidence that Hillary's 2000 fund raising man was accused first, right?:)
Nick Danger, in his post #18, suggested that Ted Kennedy, as the Democrat's version of a patriarch, most likely had to have known that his brother-in-law was doing this, and Danger's reasons are very plausible. But even if by some strange chance Teddy didn't know, the Clinton clan will still never forget that it was his brother-in-law that done their Rosen in. There was certainly never any love lost between the Kennedys and the Clintons, and this could turn into the Democratic version of the Hatfields and the McCoys feud.:)
Sir Edmund Hillary Clinton , remember, everybody , SHE IS A LIAR , the CLINTONS ARE LIARS
That is exactly what the Clintoon Sycophantic Peasants were saying on all the talk shows about Samuel "Burglar" regarding his theft of documents from the National Archives---DAILY, in the days before the election too. Just let enough time go by, America will forget---that is Clinton DOGMA, par excellance.
That is a great summary, thanks for laying it all out.
Game over. Again. This is just another Wile E. Coyote-Roadrunner routine with these unconvicted felons. We cannot touch them. They wrote the book on sleaze...including the quotes on the cover.
These sensational allegations that fizzle just as sensationally only serve to strengthen Hellary. We need to concentrate on beating her directly at the ballot box ---while guarding the bloody thing every waking moment. There she can be beaten if the party is willing to fight hard and not back down. Judging from how the Republicans can't even make a coherent case in favor of a man who criticizes an organization that is up to its top ten floors in corruption and child rape by its so-called peacekeepers, there remains a mountain of work to be done.
Beat Hellary on ideas. Beat on her policy. She's a socialist, at best. Never miss an opportunity to run the "take away things for the common good" quote and point out how her healthcare takeover had jail time as a key component for compliance. But forget the crime du jour as the silver bullet. We know she and Beezelbubba should be in jail, and hopefully one day they will, but until they're looking for the soap in the prison shower, the court of public ideas is where we need to prosecute and convict her.
Really? His constantly calling Bush a MISERABLE FAILURE is not my idea of honey spewing from his lips.
I can only hope that she's still standing BY him after he's sentenced and imprisoned.
Perhaps you give the left too much credit. All nine dwarfs seeking the dem nomination had one message - "Hate Bush" and whatever Gephardt and Lieberman and even Kerry felt about going to war was lost in their hateful rhetoric which solidified the left but turned off the moderates. Over and over we heard Gephardt, in a desperate attempt to appear relevant, accuse Bush of causing the current problem in North Korea or declaring war on the American people by ignoring some unspecified advice Gephardt supposedly gave him early in his presidency. Hmmm, it must have been some great advice if it would have stopped an insane dictator from pursuing his dream of bullying the world with nuclear weapons.
Then we had Whiney Liberman joining the chorus to try to ingratiate himself with black voters by repeating the lie that blacks "were not allowed to vote in the state of Florida" in the 2000 presidential election or accusing Bush of stealing the election. After awhile their stance on Iraq was no longer relevant.
Yes indeed which makes one scratch their head with some of their 2000 headlines promising that "Hillary will divorce Bill" or "Monica moving to NY to be closer to Bill" or some such nonsense.
Kendall has other clients besides the first family. He also represents the National Enquirer (which has headlines this week reading: "Clinton: The Cheating, Lying, Dirty Phone Calls and Steamy Sex") and the National Review. In the 1980s, he was one of the lawyers who argued on behalf of The Washington Post in a libel suit brought by William Tavoulareas, president of Mobil Oil. The U.S. Court of Appeals eventually found in favor of the newspaper. The judge who wrote the majority opinion was Kenneth Starr.
Fock Snooze reports that David Rosen has died of suffocation while hidden in Sandy Berger's underwear. Berger has denied that he was trying to smuggle Rosen out of the country. More snooze as it becomes available !!!
.
Sure she is.....ROTFLOL
Here's wishing she'd 'stand by' a tipping over concrete mixer.
LOL! That's a given! :)
