Her and Al's son Jeff had a shunt installed in his brain for spina bifida complications.
Something went wrong with it about 7 years ago and he's drastically debilitated over last years.
In a wheelchair, speech incoherant, right side of body not working, very depressed.
It's always been a stress that the Hunts have downplayed, but Judy has wanted to spend more time with him once her contract expired.
Sorry that a woman in her 50s who has a profoundly sick kid isn't superficial about her looks and not hot enough for the shallow freepers out there. (not directed at finalapproach29er persay, but other freepers laughing about her looks)

Okay, but we all have problems in our lives -- family illnesses, tragedies, etc. -- which we have to deal with. The difference between them and most of the rest of us is that they have A LOT of $$ with which to help them "deal."

I don't quite understand the envy people have towards those who've made or have money.
Like their personal woes are don't hurt as much with $$$$$ Totally untrue and jealous thinking.
And people don't become journalists as a money making proposition.
They become Doctors or Lawyers or something more linear towards profit making.
Al's brother is a Veterinarian.
His career choice was considered more stable than Al's when they were much younger.
Al's family wanted him to become something more $$$$-making then journalism.
So they both worked hard and had some luck and have money.

Commenting on Judy's personal politics is fine.
Bringing in 4th grade playground digs just looks mean-spirited and does nothing to advance anyone's cause.

I'm glad they're both disappearing from public view and I won't miss them for a second.
As far as their son is concerned, don't you dare tell me that money doesn't help them deal with his situation. If they need a private nurse for him 24/7, no problem. If he needs a special school or tutoring, they don't have to make a decision about what bill they can put off this month so he can get what he needs.
So how does that make me shallow? I'm stating the obvious here, and you want me to feel sorry for them??!!? Well I don't. There are thousands of parents in this country dealing with children with spina bifida without the resources Al and Judy have, and THOSE are the parents I empathize with.

I don't watch him, so I'm not sure what the deal is. Does he have a snotty nose, or does he sniff a lot?
