Au Contrere, mon Frere! -- While we are to 'judge not lest we be judged' the REST of that verse has to do with the fact that judgment is actually a given and we must expect to be judged by the same standard. If we start and stick with the Bible and apply Truth with Grace to others as well as ourselves, we are objective realists and discerning wise judges. Hypocrisy and "two sets of scales" are when we insist others hold to a higher standard than we do ourselves...such as Howard Dean raging that Christians are full of hate (and wrong and worthy of scorn and undeserving of political power).

Next, there are those who strive to live righteously, and while we all have feet of clay, some repent and renounce and change, by God's grace--while others merely talk different, seeking to deceive... "white-washed sepulchres of dead men's bones" ... and Hillary is not repentant, she is only pretending to be moderate in her scheme to gain power.

Meanwhile the Pharisees of old were not the only children of darkness--we ALL were, as children of the Fall, sin nature etc. We become children of God by the grace of God. Thus not just Hillary but all of us START as "satan's sons and daughters" -- not just the Pharisees and Hillary. Thank God for Messiah, His Unspeakable Gift!

I'm coming to LOVE Fr. Corapi. I'm coming to wonder, if a church does good works which attract people to it, and then basically teaches them that anything goes, does it not do them harm?

I work with a guy who is a postulant for the Episcopal Priesthood. He used to be Roman Catholic and he says I'm making a big mistake. But even though he seems to have an answer for every objection, it seems he has to twist, massage, even torture the Word to make it bash the Church.

Doesn't matter. I have to be with a church that doesn't affirm abortion, doesn't affirm homosexuality, doesn't push same sex marriage (my Bishop won't allow it but my Rector would do it in a heartbeat if he could), doesn't have women clergy (which isn't exactly BAD, it's just not biblical, and it's been a slippery slope for the demise of the ECUSA).

I still pray that there will be Schism and that the true beleivers will come back to Rome with me. Rome is calling me, Benedict is calling me, and I'm answering the call.

Amen.

I read through the requirements for reception last night, I don't think it will take me too long. I know the Gospel, I know the catechism, I know a lot of the differences. I know about the "proceeds from the Father and the Son" that is not true, etc. I'm going to try to set up some instruction this week. If you want to freepmail me with any thoughts I'd appreciate it!

I was thinking along the same lines as you. Well, kind of.

Asking the media to be responsible is like asking Satan to be honest; he's only honest when he needs to lay the groundwork for deceit. The media would do the same.

I had an interesting talk with an unusually nice muslim fellow I worked with once. He was eating an apple on the first day of Ramadan and I asked him about it. He looked scared and said "Because I'm a Baaaad muslim." He went on to explain that the penance for it was to feed a poor person for 60 days, and if you didn't do that it was 2 poor people for 90 days, etc. and how you could never catch up. I said "Good thing God is Merciful," and I left, but I thought as I was leaving that it is at best an open question whether HIS god is merciful, even though they say it all the time.

I wouldn't be surprised if you see a few million conversions in the next few months. The Church is sending out a strong message and a strong call, God be Praised!

BTW I called this church that was the only one with a Tridentine Mass in Houston last night and asked if they were still doing it, and the priest I talked to said they would be doing it at 8:00 AND 11:00 for the Feast of the Ascension. Watch for more Churches to be more bold about presenting the mass in Latin, and watch for people to respond and flock to it.
